About this property

Breakaway Cabin | Hot Tub, Wood-Burning Fireplace

This mountain vacation home will check all the boxes on your wish list! Breakaway Cabin’s location high on a ridge in the Cedar Creek area gives you a breathtaking view of 12,000-foot Sierra Blanca Peak. Indoors you’ll fall in love with the pine wood finishes, wood-burning stone fireplace, and rustic Southwestern décor. It’s exactly what you dreamed of in a mountain vacation destination.

When you arrive at Breakaway Cabin you’ll find a two-car garage where you can park your vehicle out of the elements. There’s also plenty of surface parking out front.

When you open the front door and enter Breakaway Cabin, you feel instantly at home. With plenty of comfortable furniture, huge windows to the great outdoors, and a fire raging in the wood-burning fireplace, you’ll want to sit down and relax in your mountain home’s inviting atmosphere. Also in the living room, you have a large flat-screen TV with cable and a DVD player. Pop some popcorn and settle in to watch a favorite movie with your friends. You also have free Internet within Breakaway Cabin, so you can check out websites for area attractions, play games, or send photos.

Just beyond the living room is your dining room table complete with six chairs. You’ll have a lot of fun laughing around this table about your fun on the ski slopes, golf course, or hiking trails. Rest assured, at mealtime everything you serve your guests will be eagerly devoured. Mountain air has a way of building huge appetites.

Your Breakaway Cabin kitchen is equipped with everything you need to make your group’s favorite recipes. All you add is your good recipes and ingredients you pick up at the nearby grocery.

On many days you may want to take your food out on the deck and enjoy it in the pine-scented air. Watch closely – you may see a deer wandering by Breakaway Cabin during dinner. You have a gas grill out on the deck in case you want to cook up some hamburgers or steaks for your group.

Your primary retreat is upstairs and is a loft. This large, comfortable loft features a vaulted ceiling, a king-sized bed, couch, and private deck overlooking the forest. It’s fun to sit out on this deck and watch the stars come out in the clear, dark mountain sky. You won’t believe the number of stars you’ll see when you’re away from the city lights.

The primary bathroom is connected to the primary bedroom. When you get up you can be in the shower in just a few steps, waking up and getting ready for another fun-filled day in the mountains. Will this be the day you hike in the Lincoln National Forest, ride horses, or visit the galleries of Ruidoso?

The second bedroom is on the main floor. It includes a queen-sized bed and has direct access to the deck through sliding glass doors. Guests staying in this room also have a TV that sets on the dresser so it’s easy to watch from bed.

The third bedroom also contains a queen-size bed and has a window with a beautiful view of the forest. The two guest bedrooms share a bathroom that has a shower/tub combination and vanity with large mirror and plenty of space to store toiletries.

As an added convenience, Breakaway Cabin also has a washer and dryer you are welcome to use during your stay.

Beautiful home, but definitely needs some attention!
Upon arrival first thing was there is no hot tub-and the description clearly states there is. Also, they say you have access to park in the 2 car garage but it is so full of personal stuff you cannot park in there. Every dish in the cabinets had to be washed before use, and there are minimal kitchen utensils, plus all kitchen stuff is very old and most needs to be replaced. All beds are very uncomfortable & need to be replaced. Sad part, this home is beautiful with beautiful views and a great location, but would not stay again.

Beds are terribly uncomfortable.
Property is beautiful, with a great view. Hot tub was nice. The only issue we had were the beds. We did not get much sleep on our stay. I even tried to sleep on the couch one night, because the beds felt like laying on the floor. I would not come back to this property as is, but would return in a heartbeat if beds were upgraded. Will also note that the downstairs shower had little to no water pressure, but the shower upstairs worked fine. There was no dumpster so we had to take our trash to town to throw it out. The home itself is beautiful, hot tub view was amazing, overall enjoyed our stay, but the 7 hour drive home on 2 hours of sleep is rough.

Would have been great but hot tub didn't work and mgmt company wasn't helpful
Let me begin by saying we specifically chose this property for the hot tub. I called a couple of days prior to our check-in date to make sure the hot tub was working and was reassured by the management company that it was. When we got there, the code to get in did not work so we had to call the after-hours help line. He gave us a temporary code that worked. Immediately we went to turn the hot tub on so it could warm up. It did not work at all. When I called the hot tub maintenance guy he said the hot tub had not been working for a few days now, management was well aware, and it would definitely not be back in service for our stay...they needed a part. When I called the management company in the morning they were not apologetic and said there is not a guarantee that the hot tub would work. Our options were we could leave and they would refund less than half of our stay (though we had booked 4 nights and had only been there one???) or we could just stay at that property with no hot tub. We had no choice but to stay. The cabin itself was nice. The views are beautiful and it was clean. The main problem I had was with the management company. I would really appreciate it if they were more customer-centric.

Cozy home with amazing view
My family and I had a great time. The house was as advertised. Couldn't be more pleased. I highly recommend and I would definitely rent again.
