About this property

Breathtaking View of Grandfather Mountain-Boone/ASU/Blowing Rock/Hound Ears Club

A relaxing vacation, a spectacular lodge, endless activities, all with a breathtaking view of Grandfather Mountain. Our recently renovated lodge sleeps 8 to 10, has a stunning island kitchen, 3 fireplaces, EV charging station and amenities galore. The Mayers lodge is located just outside Boone in a very exclusive gated community called “Hound Ears”. Established in the mid 60’s, it is not only beautiful but also very convenient to shopping and restaurants. Boone, Linville, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock are just minutes away.

The local area is teeming with activities and attractions. Hiking, golf, fishing, rafting, climbing, waterfalls and the list goes on. If it’s shopping you crave, you’ll find quaint little towns with unique wares from local vendors, one-of-a-kind keepsakes as well as world class art.

If you desire to venture out a little further, a day trip to Ashville is a MUST. Visit the world famous Biltmore House, built and completed by the Vanderbilt Family in 1895. This house is located on 8,000 acres, is 175,000 sf and defies description. Finish the day with a late lunch or early dinner on the front porch of The Omni Grove Park Inn. It was established in 1913 and you won’t be disappointed.

Each evening, as the beautiful sunset fades, you may be pondering dining out. The local area has a large array of cuisine to satisfy any and everyone’s palate. From fast-food to world class, your choice will be difficult. Or, stay relaxed with your glass of wine, the twinkling view, the warmth of the fire pit, and order in. Either way, you can’t go wrong.

DESSERT! Do I have your attention? Hop in the car and head to Kilwin’s on Main Street in Blowing Rock.
Get your taste buds ready for an extravaganza. Home- made Mackinac Island fudge, flavor upon flavor of original recipe ice creams, candy apples, chocolates…. the list never ends. One visit isn’t enough so plan accordingly.

Each morning, as the sun rises on another spectacular day, you may decide to stay in your jams, have that delicious cup of joe and enjoy that view of Grandfather. Or, you could settle in with a good book or shut those eyes for a relaxing nap. It never get’s old.

If your desire is to hit the ski slopes, we have some of the best skiing in North Carolina. Spend an exuberating day on Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain or Appalachian Ski Mountain, all just minutes away. If you don’t like those long boards on your feet, tubing and snow mobiling are also available. Afterwards, return to our cozy lodge to a crackling fire in the fireplace, nice glass of wine, hot chocolate with marsh mellows or a warm cup of joe.

The Mayers lodge was designed and renovated not only around our family but also visiting families as well. We strive to make your stay as stress free and relaxing as possible. Being right in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where Daniel Boone called home, history abounds. There is always something to do. We would enjoy the opportunity to have you as our guests. We won’t disappoint.

A Gem in NC Mountains
What a wonderful view we had!! What a way to wake up! Temperature was comfortable, beds and bedding were comfortable and clean, floors were clean and finally there was no lack of entertainment. There’s nothing we needed that Pam didn’t have. We much appreciate the ownership and management of this property. We would love to stay again!

Beautiful In The Winter
The home was even more beautiful than your pictures. The Host was amazing! We arrived on Friday 12/23/22. The winter storm hit, power & water went out. There was nothing to do except keep the fireplaces going. The support system this neighborhood has is like you’d hope everyone has. Wood delivered !! Power came on but it was time to go. But we had a memorable Christmas skied & tube To Much Fun !! Definitely recommend this home & location ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cindy& Mark

Great Views - Wonderful Host!
This home has breathtaking views over the valley to the next mountains. Nearly at the end of a road to the top of the mountain. Dog friendly and so clean that you would never know any pets ever stayed there. lVery close to attractions. Great place for a family vacation. Pam, the owner/host was extremely accomodating and welcoming.

Why they chose this property

The view alone will blow you away, but the house was just renovated from February - June 2019. Plus you won't find a lot of rentals that come as fully stocked as this house does. Anything you need for cooking.

What makes this property unique

The view !! Even people that come to work on our home and live in the area comment on the view. Now we have a new kitchen with all new appliances. We put in wood floors up stairs and changed the carpet downstairs.
