About this property

Alaska River Rustic Wedding Venue PLZ INQUIRE FIRST!Kenai River Lodge FOR ONE RM

For a good time, CALL!!! One of the most beautiful cabins in the Kenai area by far Cusack's On The Kenai offers the best in luxury accommodations in all of the Kenai River's lodges! Located right smack dab on the river with NO STAIRS down to the bank which is sooo nice and rare on this river! No steep steps to climb! Another local Alaskan Family experience! Come stay with us for a high end log cabin stay or have your destination wedding vows on the bank of the Kenai River! Large beautiful hand sewn Sprucewood logs make up this slice of heaven with awesome aluminum platform docks! The fishing is excellent off these docks and I promise I did not even know that when I bought the place. I remodeled and added marble everywhere and a few other things like a walk-in freezer for your fish processing needs! Added a professional vacuum sealer that can seal 4 bags at one time. Optional bed & breakfast. Optional fish box & fish processing. The lodge was made from the huge round locally grown Sprucewood trees. 8 fully remodeled marble bathrooms, 7 bedrooms with 4 bathtubs and 4 showers. 18 beds in total in the whole lodge. This listing is for 1 room and is based on double occupancy, so its a minimum of 2 people but can sleep up to 8 in some rooms. MUST MESSAGE ME FIRST so I can let you know what room is available or how many people can fit in designated rooms! ADDITIONAL PEOPLE ARE $150/PERSON/DAY during the highest peak fishing. (But you can catch fish from May through October on our banks)! AFTER THE DOUBLE OCCUPANCY GUESTS INCLUDED IN THE BASE PRICE! New game/office room. Pool table, dart board, virtual reality, guest computers. Free high speed WIFI. New commercial kitchen with walk-in fridge. New Carrara Marble kitchen doubles as the bar at night. The best addition was the very large deck WITH HUGE JACUZZI OVERLOOKING RIVER!!! Campfire every night if desired with unlimited firewood. Location couldn't be better. We are centrally located, offering the best of Alaska to our guests and the best accommodations right on the river and just a 5 minute drive from the grocery store and pharmacies, and hardware stores, and plenty of great restaurants. A very comfortable cozy cabin to rent for large groups. Family reunions or Wedding Destinations, let me know as I will direct you to a listing that is for whole lodge rental. This listing is only for one room at a time!! But honestly, for the price and what is included.....this place is loved by whoever steps inside. World-class fishing, sightseeing, bear viewing and more await you. We are happy to incorporate fishing excursions into your trip for you without being the "middle-man" and just hand over our guides contacts to you for just booking with us.....Discounted room rates don't include breakfasts or fish processing. You can rent a rod out. You can use the docks. You can use the vacuum sealer. But no services are provided. Discounted rooms are limited to 1 room party. Any more rooms will go back to normal pricing.

Ultimate Fishing lodge on the Kenai
Jenny and her staff at Cusacks offer an amazing experience for everyone. I brought my 10 yr old son and besf friend. I entrusted the staff with my little guy when i waa fishing and they made sure he had fun. The fishing from the lodge and the stretch of water was excellent. We caaught our limits easily each day. My 10 yr old had no issues fishing from their grates. We will definitely come back to Cusacks!! Jenny goes above and beyond to make her lodge a memory of a lifetime.

Absolutely breathtaking
This beautiful lodge is huge and breathtaking. It has ample space, fabulous beds, pillows and everything you could possibly need and more. We have stayed in many vacation homes as we tour the US to bring awareness to human trafficking and this lodge is the most amazing we have ever stayed. Choose this lodge for a fabulous Alaska experience in any season.

Work Retreat
This property was perfect for our office work retreat. Plenty of personal space, yet great areas for socializing. The property was clean and well kept. Very impressed with the small touches that made it feel like home...Stocked coffee bar, candy jar, plenty of pillows, throws to snuggle on the couch or on the deck, and anything else you could imagine. On-site manager, Will, was amazing. He was a bonus to our weekend. Very attentive, kind, and personable. The hot tub was very clean and well maintained, although, a little too hot at 104. We were extremely happy with our stay and enjoyed the getaway very much.

Fabulous Kenai River location
17 kids and grandkids stayed at the lodge and had a wonderful time. Caught our limit of sockeye salmon every day, had a day of halibut fishing as well as a rock fish excursion. Loved the walk-in freezer and vacuum packaging amenity. A couple of recommendations— fishing poles and reels are in need of replacement or repair. Having a binder with instructions would have been helpful for the TVs, kitchen amenities, etc…including where to find the garbage disposal switch. It was behind the hanging frying pans. We also bought some “normal” sized utensils, like spatulas and rubber scrapers. Will and Jenny are top notch! Very quick to respond. We couldn’t find fish boxes anywhere and they helped us solve our dilemma. Thanks so much!

Best family vacation ever!
This house was amazing! We had tons of bedrooms for everyone to sleep comfortable and each bedroom had its own bathroom which was a plus. Fully stocked with everything needed for cooking. The rods were supplied and we caught lots of salmon and could process it right at the house. We had campfires, sat in the hot tub and even did a couple excursions while we were in Alaska. This house won’t disappoint you!

About the host

I begged my husband buy a fishing lodge for years. I went & found this beautiful log lodge on my own (well, w/ the help of my sisters). It didn't take too much to convince my (now late) husband, Tony Hedley, MD, a die-hard fly fisherman, to buy the log cabin/lodge after showing him pictures. Growing up in Alaska is the greatest gift a parent can give a child. Born & raised in Alaska w/ a dad who was a dermatologist yet also a pioneer in the high end Alaskan fishing lodges. Though my husband & I bought the properties, my sisters & I started the lodge that sits on one of the greatest fishing holes on the River. The remodel took twice as long & twice the cost & now stands alone for fishing lodges in all of the Kenai Peninsula. Our dad's lodge in Bristol Bay was "Mike Cusack's King Salmon Lodge." We changed it up a bit & decided to continue on w/ that Alaskan family name as a tradition, "Cusack's on the Kenai." Kelly Cusack Millen, my oldest sister, helps on the promotional side. Kim Cusack Tolan, 2nd oldest sister, helps more with hostessing&gardening. Brooke Cusack, is truly the hostess with the most-ess, or possibly a tie with Kim for the top live entertainment at night. Did I say we were crazy Alaskans yet? Katelyn Cusack is the Cleaning Lady(NOT), but is the only "other" normal one like myself in the family. Katelyn has mastered testing out our beds for comfort. (There are 2 brothers in the line up but mess with the lodge as much). My 3 amazing yet hilarious children, Alexis, Jackson, & Olivia are my pride and joy and now starting to enter the business as workers. The older two are in college in Tucson, AZ and my baby girl is about to hit high school. Shane Scott (Jesus) w/ the long grey hair has been our operations manager for many years. He helped shape the business into what it is today with his excellent customer service & southern charm. For now, we have newly named our Wedding Venue, Michael's Garden, after the passing of our father in July of 2019.

Why they chose this property

MOST BEAUTIFUL breathtaking cabin I could find on the river with platform docks on a flat but slightly sloped bank (vs the typical bank drop off with stairs to climb down). I envisioned sitting by the campfire staring out at the river. I will say this..... I was not aware, when i purchased this place, of the INSANE FISHING HOLE this lodge has from the natural curve of the river bank on our river front. The previous owners never disclosed this secret. The proof is in the pudding.... I mean catching.

What makes this property unique

SAFETY- I would have to say was the most unique benefit to buying this property.....The fairly flat sloped land as you head down to the river bank was probably my deciding factor in buying this property so I didn't have to worry so much about my young children if they were outside because I could see the water's edge from the lodge. The Kenai River typically has a drop off and stairs are (in most cases) needed to access the river's edge. We can view the water directly from the windows inside the lodge or on the deck. This is an added safety aspect that meant a lot to me as we have a very large family and many CHILDREN around. To be able to see if a child walks down towards the bank without a life vest is important. Water safety is very important! Living on the river with children and drinkers- your visual view of the water's edge is a bonus. This place is perfect for the clientele we aim for.....family and people wanting to relax and have a good time! We aim for sobriety too so if you are sober, we love and encourage that healthier lifestyle for sure! FUN, NOT YOUR BORING TYPICAL FISHING LODGE-The Kenai River is surrounded by lots of fun things to do. You wont be bored like the remote fishing lodges of many places in the world because we have many local business, grocery stores, restaurants, bars, salons, TOOTHLESS strip bars, and many more exciting Alaskan adventures. We also just became a very popular wedding destinations after many requests for weddings. We are proud to call our wedding venue Michael's Garden after our late dad who passed away in 2019 and brought us to Alaska in the late 60s. For his love for the last frontier, we have dedicated a perennial garden in his honor on the 3 acres and can't wait to see it take off!
