Come stay in our comfortable Everett Lake home! The home is large, comfortable and located on five acres with over 700 feet of lakeshore.
The cabin has three bedrooms plus a loft, sleeping up to 10. It has two fireplaces, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, large deck and great views of Everett Lake.
The home is on the Echo Trail, close to the boundary waters and to Lake Burntside. In the summer, you can canoe across Everett and short portage will take you into Twin Lakes, the Dead River and Lake Burntside. Another portage on the property will take you into beautiful Fenske Lake. There is a beaver damn on the property and other wildlife abounds in the area. Two aluminum canoes provided.
In the winter, the house is well insulated and easy to heat. Take advantage of abundant cross-country skiing and snow-mobiling on the Little Grassy Trail. Listen for wolves and if you are lucky, watch the Northern Lights.
NEW: Finnish Sauna in the basement. Relax in our traditional cedar sauna before going to bed. If you're brave - run out into the snow!
Please see our website for more photos and information.
NOTE: Everett Lake has a 10 HP limit on motorboats, and we respect our neighbors desire for quiet and privacy. No jetskis, ATVs or large motor boats please! This is a very quiet setting, and these types of motorized vehicles are out of character for the Echo Trail.

Sean and Joselyn met in the Bay Area, but soon after getting married, Sean managed to drag Joselyn back to his native Minnesota. As a Californian, she was skeptical at first, but fell in love with the North Woods after her first dogsledding adventure. Today they live in Minneapolis with their three wonderful kids, but get up North every chance they get.
Sean McCauley purchased this cabin in 2006
Joselyn and I found ourselves returning to Ely again and again, mostly the YMCA Camp DuNord. Over the years, we started to look at properties, including another one on Everett Lake but could never find anything that was just right. Ironically, we had noticed our cabin a number of times as we drove the Echo Trail, commenting on how nice it looked. Then one day in June 2006, I was browsing the Bear Island Land Co. website and found this place for sale. Joselyn was out of town, so I called the realtor, packed his camping gear and drove up an hour later. I made an offer the next day. We haven't regretted it for a moment, and can't believe our luck to own such a place.
We would recommend this cabin for anyone looking to spend time on the beautiful lakes in the BWCAW. The cabin was very clean and the kitchen was complete! The cabin was on a lake in which we could portage to other lakes for day trips or drive to other lakes for either overnighters or hiking. Perfectly located, close enough to town for shopping, but far enough out to feel "out there" The owners were so easy to work with. The kayaks and extra canoes are great fun. Plus it was great to be able to bring our dog!!
Thanks for a great week!
I recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing stay near Ely. The owner made everything very comfortable. There was a Finnish -style sauna, a new BBQ grill, quick and easy access to the lake, lots of windows and a very clean, yet comfortable layout to the place. Highly recommended.
Well our crew gathered for our annual snowshoeing trip and found the cabin to be a wonderful and comfortable way to spend a great weekend. We explored Ely, the International Wolf Center, Kawishiwi Falls Trail and found the portage into Twin Lake at the end of Everett Lake. We love the cabin as it gives us (and a couple of dogs) space to spread out, enjoy the fire, the views, TV and WIFI when you need it and of course the Sauna! This is our fourth year at the cabin and we'll be back next year!
Spent a week in August this year with our family- this was our 2nd summer in Ely-last yr stayed at a Resort. Very spacious, clean, very comfy beds. Well stocked kitchen. Canoes were well maintained. Location on Everett Lake is gorgeous! Board games, books to read, great i pod stand with speakers. Would have liked blinds in the bedrooms as the bright sunlight woke me up too early! :)) Defintiely recommend it - we were 9 of us and very comfortable. Took our dog with and he did great! Sean (the owner)gives detailed isntructions about everything which is very helpful!
This home is Spacious, relaxing, and beautiful. We literally enjoyed every room in this well stocked, clean home. We did the 500 piece puzzle (missing 1 piece but still fun), played games, cooked, read, and enjoyed the sauna. The canoes, kayaks, and multiple sized life jackets enabled us to take a small portage trip through the dead dead river to a large lake. We took my mom swimming at an easy access beach (Fall Lake Campground). The location gave us easy access to town where we enjoyed the Wolf Center, shopping, and eating.
If this is what all VRBO places are like then we will definitely use them again! We highly recommend this particular place.
We had 10 family members stay at the cabin and we loved it! We snowshoed the Bass Lake trail and also the lake. We had lots of snow and the temperatures in the teens. The cabin is spacious, comfortable, well equiped to make yummy meals after a day in the snow and woods. The sauna is excellent! Plenty of room for our crew! We'll be back for sure. Our dogs loved the lake and nearby trails too.
