About Patsy Nettles
My husband is a retired music professor and I am a retired manager of a social service agency. We live on Tancook 5 months a year and on Cape Cod the rest of the year. We discovered and fell in love with Tancook 14 years ago and never turned back. We decided to rent because we wanted to share the beauty of the island and meet new people. We are volunteers at the island Fire Company and recreation center.
Patsy Nettles purchased this House in 2011
Why Patsy Nettles chose Tancook Island
The life style and friendly Tancookers drew us to this unique island. Being here felt like a step back in time when life was more simple. When ths property became available it needed a lot of cosmetic work, but we saw a diamond in the rough. Being one of the oldest houses on the island, it came with a lot of history and stories. The previous owner loved the color pink, so we left it that way. We named it THE ISLAND ROSE to reflect the wild pink roses that grow all over the island. Most of the islanders just call it "Pinky"
What makes this House unique
The location of the house is exceptional . It is away from the road and surrounded by lush lawns where children and dogs can play safely. It has a comfortable homey feel, yet provides modern amenities. The view from the deck allows you to view fishing boats, pleasure boats, occasional whales and of course the ferry. If you sit on the deck you will be wowed by breath taking sun sets. At night the stars are brilliant because there are no reflected street lights to dilute them. You can see the twinkling lights from the mainland at night.
