Unique Boathouse
It has character and being close to the water is an added bonus. Very nice washroom and well appointed kitchen. Comfortable and good attention to details. Very secure and quiet. There are stairs that some people may not be able to handle easily especially with luggage.

Double retreat
We initially booked the upstairs/rooftop portion of the house, which was fantastic - views, location to town and other attractions, clean, modern, etc. Everything above and beyond. Then our son and his girlfriend said they'd join us from NY. That was great but put them on a fold-out couch in living room. Nice to have that option but wanted some privacy for them so asked the host if the lower apt was available. It was for the last 3 nights of our stay, so we booked that as well. So it worked out for everyone! They appreciated the 'real bed' of course - only comment was that the ceiling was pretty low, being the basement essentially (which was all clearly described in the listing) We were so happy there was an option like that for them, making the stay that much more comfortable. We went to see the eclipse, so the viewing from the rooftop was amazing, but now want to return when all the plants are awake, to see the other beautiful areas of Burlington, ON

What makes this property unique

I live on the main floor of a three-apartment home that holds a fascinating story. This house was constructed in 1938 as the opulent residence of a wealthy family who maintained a staff of servants to attend to their needs. The echoes of that era can still be felt in the exquisite architectural details and overall character of this dwelling.

In 1964, an application was submitted to the city for a zoning change, and it was granted, officially designating my property as a legal triplex. This transformation ushered in new possibilities, leading to the rental of rooms to university students during the 1960s and 1970s. Those decades were marked by the vibrant energy of young scholars who chose this place as their home away from home. Over the years, my home has seen many transformations, and a diverse array of people have walked through its doors.

Today, I take pride in upholding the tradition of offering accommodations in this historically significant residence. Nestled in the heart of beautiful Burlington, our city has its own unique regulations. One such bylaw mandates that to offer short-term accommodations, the host must reside on-site, and I am pleased to confirm that I live here.

I'm excited to welcome you to my piece of local history, and while our paths may or may not cross during your stay, I'm here to ensure you have a cozy and convenient haven during your visit to Burlington. If you have any questions or wish to book your stay, please don't hesitate to contact me. I eagerly await the opportunity to host you!
