A Gite in Burgundy
This is a lovingly renovated old barn that the owner Jean Philippe clearly devoted a lot of time and attention. It is located in a pastoral setting that is very quiet and peaceful. It is a 20 minute drive to Beaune so a car is absolutely essential as there is nothing else close by for things like groceries.. It has a very French vibe to it and you do get a sense of history here. The gite has a well stocked kitchen and the water pressure for showers and cleaning is the best we've ever experienced. Jean Philippe is an excellent host and very approachable. All in all an ideal getaway for up to 6 people, perhaps 8 if 2 are children. Do note that the 3rd floor bedroom is reachable via a set of steep stairs. At the time we were there it was quite buggy due to a wet spring so we were unable to enjoy the outside. The only thing to point out is that the pictures on the website are out of date but Jean Philippe said he would update.the website with new pictures.

Perfect Stay in Beaune
We had a lovely stay at at Moulin de Cussigny. The house was charming, clean and nicely furnished. The kitchen was well outfitted with modern appliances and cookware for a family to cook meals. The location was extremely convenient to the town of Beaune, 20 minutes with many excellent restaurants and wineries close by in the Cote du Nuits region. Also the country setting next to a farm, with a stream and fields was so peaceful and charming. Jean Luis, the host was available to answer questions or help with recommendations. The only bit of caution is the third bedroom is the attic so the stairs up to this bedroom are steep. Overall a lovely stay in an incredible part of the world.
