About this property

A Walk in the Clouds | Pet Friendly, Hot Tub, Loft

Overlooking woodlands of the Great Smoky Mountains, A Walk in the Clouds is an idyllic cabin for an intimate getaway for two. A Walk in the Clouds includes an outdoor hot tub and a jetted tub in the bedroom—just the thing to get you in the mood for romance—the log cabin has its own pool table, foosball and air hockey, so you might not be able to resist bringing the kids along too.

As soon as you enter the A-frame cabin, you’ll see just how much loving care went into creating it. The planked-wood floor, walls and vaulted ceiling gleam, as does the handcrafted spiral stair leading up to the loft. In winter, the golden glow from the stone-surround fireplace will make the open-plan living spaces feel even more inviting if that’s possible.

The plump-cushioned sofa is a cozy spot for nesting together as you watch a movie on the flat-panel 42-inch TV. It has a DVD player and cable channels including HBO, so you can keep up with your favorite shows. The sofa also opens into a comfy bed for two.

The polished log dining table can seat up to four people. Given that there’s a picnic table on the deck, though, we have a feeling you’ll want to eat outside every chance you get. The fresh mountain breeze rustling through the trees and the sight of falcons and eagles swooping above the mountaintops will turn any meal into a special occasion.

You can cook outside as well, on the charcoal grill. Fresh-caught trout tastes especially fabulous grilled, so this just might inspire you to try your luck at a nearby stream! A Walk in the Clouds has a fully equipped indoor kitchen too, of course. Appliances, gadgets, pots, pans, tableware, even a dishwasher—the cabin has it all. Take advantage of the free Wi-Fi to search for new recipes to try!

The bedroom with private bathroom shows why A Walk in the Clouds is honeymoon worthy. The four-poster log-frame queen-size bed is marvelously luxurious, as is the bedroom’s jetted tub. After a day of skiing, hiking or golfing, pamper your tired muscles with a restorative soak.

Or better yet, make it a soak for two outdoors, in the hot tub that looks out toward the mountains from the screened-in porch. As mesmerizing as the view is during the day, the experience is even more romantic at night, among the silvery moonlight and the serenade of the whip-poor-wills.

The loft level offers diversions of a different sort: a pool table, air hockey, foosball and another TV. If you’re vacationing with the kids, you’ll always know where you can find them! We’ll provide all the towels and bedding you need. Leave yours at home where they belong! In fact, you can pack lighter than usual, as A Walk in the Clouds has a washer and dryer.

Given the serenity and seeming seclusion of the setting, you might think the cabin far from the area’s attractions and shops. But in less than five minutes, you can drive from A Walk in the Clouds to downtown Gatlinburg, with its wealth of restaurants, an aquarium, mini golf and a host of other attractions. Less than 10 minutes away is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with its hiking trails, historic cabins, waterfalls and wildlife ranging from black bears to elk. Also conveniently close is the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, an eight-mile trail of more than 100 galleries, studios and craft shops.

When you stay at A Walk in the Clouds, you’ll never run out of things to do, in either the cabin or the immediate vicinity. But you’ll also be able to relish the grandeur of nature and the simple pleasures of one another’s company. So go ahead and reserve your stay today—you definitely won’t regret it!

Great place but bring supplies
The cabin was great. Cute and cozy. The only thing I would stress to your guests is that it’s pretty bare bones regarding supplies - no coffee, detergent, shampoo, etc so they’re better prepared. But we saw bears so that was cool!

Nice cabin
The cabin was nice, could use a little updating, there was a large tear on one of the sofa cushions and there could be some more amenities, ie salt/ pepper, sugar. A word of warning, we were loading up the car to leave, had the back open for one last bag when mama bear and 4 cubs showed up. Before we could close it, mama was in the back and grabbed the bag with our dogs food in it! The bear warnings are serious.
