About this property

Open plan house 1 minute to beach and St Michaels Mount causeway

Sarnia cottage offers spacious accommodation with open plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a cosy wood burning stove and a bright sun lounge. New heating system was installed in 2020 and is operated via an app. The bathroom was newly fitted in 2019 with a stylish, modern shower.
The well equipped kitchen includes dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, toaster and fridge/freezer.
The patio for barbecues is a lovely sun trap.
There is a smart TV, unlimited wifi and a landline which can receive incoming calls. During the winter of 2023 we have resanded the living room and dining room and sanded the 2 main bedrooms. There is a new carpet on the stairs, landing and small bedroom. It has been redecorated throughout.

Upstairs
There are two double bedrooms and a third bedroom with bunks.
The front bedroom has two 2"6 singles which can be a king size double if attached. The second bedroom has a regular double bed. This bedroom leads out onto the balcony which has beautiful sea views and is perfect for an evening drink.
Upstairs there is another toilet and washbasin.

The area: Marazion has a sailing club and windsurfing school. You can also hire paddleboards and windsurfers from the beach. Close by are the lovely towns of St. Ives, (the home of The Tate and many other Art galleries), and Penzance and there are amazing beaches around the Minack Theatre, Porthcurno and Sennen. Marazion is on the South West coast path, and there are stunning walks to be found nearby and around the Lizard and Lands End peninsulars. Penzance has an art deco swimming pool (sea water) and in the town there tare several Art galleries and two lovely parks.
Just outside the town are Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrisons supermarkets.
In Marazion there are 4 pubs and several restaurants.
The newly re furbished Godolphin has wonderful sea views, bar, and serves good meals.
The Fire Engine at the top of the town has recently been taken over by a well known chef.

Bank holiday weekend stay
A lovely few days with sunshine and warmth on Saturday and Sunday. Lots of dog walking on the fabulous beach and pub meals in the evening. Sunny sheltered back yard was appreciated.

Lovely place to stay
Ideal for 3 generation family so we had more time with our son, daughter in law and young grandchildren. Open plan layout made it ideal for giving the children more space to play whilst always being within sight of adults. The children’s playground near the beach had new equipment Installed over the winter which the children, aged 3 and 7, very much enjoyed whilst the adults also enjoyed views of St Michael’s Mount from the playground and being able to quickly return to the house or car in changeable weather. We had a lot of wet, windy weather with little sun but still had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the views of the sea from the house and very much appreciated log fires in the evenings.

Top Lage, gerne wieder

Schönes Cottage in Cornwall

About the host

I grew up in the village of Marazion, went to school in Penzance, and have always loved West Penwith. My 2 children also love Marazion, as do their partners and now my grandchildren. We all visit regularly, separately or sometimes all together!

Why they chose this property

We chose Sarnia because it is adjacent to Tresco, which was the cottage I grew up in, now owned by my niece Jane (the two cottages can be rented together and would then accommodate 12).

What makes this property unique

Just 2 minutes from the beach
The beach is very safe for young children
The causeway to St.Michael's Mount is 2 mins away
Very close to all village shops and amenities
Excellent restaurants just 2 mins walk away
All mod cons as furnished for our own use.
Storage heaters and woodburning stove.
Back patio and balcony get afternoon and early evening sun. Ideal for BBQs.
