Truly lovely place
We stayed for a short weekend get-away in January. The house is just 30 min from Berkshire East. The house was very well maintained and quite charming. The grounds were pastoral and picturesque. 10/10 all around. Thanks Mark and Sarah for making such a wonderful place available for others!

Work trip
We were in town working an event near by. We came in with staff, friends and family. This house was not only beautiful, well equipped, quiet and peaceful but was perfectly set up with lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. that met all of our needs. We would definitely rent again.

Wonderful location for just family and for an event
We had a small wedding at the property as well as staying with our family for a long weekend. It worked out wonderfully in a stunning location and ample room for everyone. We didn't have a chance to explore the location enough because we were so busy but all the more reason to go back again! Mark was wonderfully helpful and provided a list of recommended vendors. Only downside was that cell reception was unreliable which would be great for a getaway but tough when trying to coordinate event details. We managed with wifi - and android phones were better than iphones we found.

Just as expected
They had clearly been at this for a while since so many little details (e.g. paper cups at the sink, signs everywhere telling you how to use things) just made it easier.

About the host

Host profile image
Your hosts, Sarah and Mark
We have lived in the area since 1980 and run a farm down the road where we raise goats and manage a small herd of horses. Our three daughters are 'out of the nest' but nearby. Mark is currently farming full time, spending any free time clearing trails and maintaining the old ones. Sarah is getting back into her photography and often helping with 2 grand children, trying her hand at travel writing whenever they get away on adventures, which happen annually.

Why they chose this property

'We live in Paradise' is a recent phrase coined by a local friend of ours. No matter where we travel, we always love coming home to these old hills covered in a blend of hardwood and pine forests, just out of the way of development and the clamour of too many people! We are surrounded by nature and wildlife that flourish here.
