Beautiful cabin, great host
We had the best stay and will be booking again next year! The cabin is beautiful and in a great location. We spent time at both Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain, and were happy to find the amenities of Boone also nearby. A perfect mix of mountain tranquility and convenience. The cabin was clean and the host went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.

WARNING DO NOT STAY!
Booked this property and 3 hours before arrival host said property isn’t available due to heating. Requested a full refund and host would not give one. He didn’t even cancel the reservation but instead took my money and refused to give me a refund even though the property I booked wasn’t available. Instead he offered a different property that had steep washed out road and non working hot tub that hadn’t been serviced in years. Again requested a refund with the host over phone and through text. He hung up on me and has ignored my text for a full refund. Host is a dishonest person and liar and left my family in bad situation on our vacation. DO NOT do business with this host. As a 24 year veteran I never experienced such a disregard for service member or his family. Shameful, and deceit is this host. You have been WARNED!

Perfect winter vacation with friends!
We loved our stay here. It was two families, with 5 kids total. A great layout/setup for us and just a very comfortable place to be, with the perfect cabin feel! It was an easy drive back and forth to Sugar Mountain every day. And the hot tub on the deck was the best at the end of each adventure!

Trevor and Ambie were quick to respond to questions we had when we arrived. Beautiful home and perfect size for a family for friends getaway.

Needs a refresh!
The positives first- owner was prompt with communication and the cabin is in a good location- easy access to banner elk and blowing rock. You can stay in this area and have multiple hiking opportunities very close. Here’s where it falls short- it’s in terrible need of a deep cleaning and basic maintenance. The carpets are gross- lots of stains. I also think the cabin had been restocked for new guests months before we stayed- we walked thru cobwebs in almost every room when we first arrived. There was a layer of dust on everything. My daughter has asthma and I had to wash comforters before she could even use the beds. The whole cabin is lacking overhead lighting and many of the light fixtures were missing bulbs- it was so dark in the kitchen I had to move a bedside lamp to the countertop. We were hoping to grill but we’re unable to find grilling tools and the grill was very dirty. I also noticed a good amount of poison ivy on a large tree right by the cabin. I could continue to list things like this but just know the whole impression is outdated, dark, and dirty. Mill run is a beautiful little neighborhood but this cabin has been neglected. It will accommodate a lot of people but sadly staying in it didn’t feel like a treat. One more thing worth noting- ALL the sheets are polyester- ugh!! If you decide you can ignore the other stuff do yourself a favor and bring cotton sheets so you don’t sweat to death at night.
