About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, includes two Sleeping Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 7) & will not allow us to display our rental fee in Canadian dollars. The rental fee is show in US dollars but renters will be charged in CA dollars not US dollars. $1300 per week CA, Housekeeping $120 dollars CN, damage deposit $300 dollars CN, renting less that one week, $200 per night CN, etc. Sorry about the confusion.

'The Ranch' as we call it is located 10 km down a very good gravel road from Bridge Lake, British Columbia, (50 km east of 100 Mile House off Highway 24). The Log Cabin is on Eagan Lake and features one of the few private sandy beaches in the area.

The location is very scenic and private. A beautiful sandy beach makes a great swimming and picnic area. The lake shore is very shallow, waist deep for a 100 m or more making it a very safe area for kids to play. There is a large grassy area in front of the cabin suitable for many games.

The cabin has one private bedroom on the main level and sleeping lofts/two semi-private areas up stairs. The loft opens to the living area from upstairs. Shower/bath and toilet is adjacent to the private bedroom. Full daylight basement.

Facing the lake is a large (10 by 30) screened porch which provides a wonderful area for relaxing, reading and nature viewing. The porch also makes for a great place for the kids to 'sleep outside'.

Two boats (12' and 14' feet) with either gas or electric motors are included in the rent along with a sturdy canoe. Take a trip down the lake in the evening when the water is often calm and when many animals are about.

Bald Eagles and Osprey are routine visitors and can be seen soring over the lake. In the evening, loons have come to the shallow beach to get small fish to feed their young. A sturdy safe bridge crosses the Machete Creek where kids can fish for trout and pike minnow. A beaver family has a lodge just below the bridge and they are often be seen in the evening along with the local muskrats. Both whitetail and mule deer along with moose are frequently seen on or around the property. Wolves are in the area and have been heard at night. Nearby ranchers raise cattle as part of their lively hood and use the immediate area outside the fenced yard as 'range land'. On occasion a few cattle will encroach on our property, wanting to feeding on the lush grasses near the lake. They are easily run off and will often stay away for a number of days. Range cattle are very skittish and have never been a threat.

Fishing on Eagan Lake can be quite good. Catches of Kokanee and rainbow trout are sure to please both the fisherman and cook. Both species can be found directly in front of the cabin.

Renting Schedule-The cabin is used by our growing families, mostly in June and July. When it’s not in use by family, we do rent. We give our families until the 1st of February to select their dates to use the cabin. After they have decided on their dates, we begin accepting renting reservations for the summer.

During all times of the year, we get a number of inquiries from folks wishing to reserve dates at the cabin for the upcoming summer. With our family having until February 1st, we do not reserve their request. So, what we have done is establish a priority list for these folks. As we get inquiries we add them to this list. Then, in January we send an email to them to see if they are still interested in renting for the up coming summer. It’s from this priority list, based on first come first serve, that renters for the upcoming summer are determined

With this information in mind, the best we can now do is put your name on the priority list. We have a number of returning renters every year as well, some for 12 years straight; they get first choice of dates. After scheduling previous renters, we then refer to the priority list. Families wishing a week or more are next. July and August are highly sought after months and we only entertain renting for a minimum of one week during these months. May, June and September we will accept a minimum of three nights.

-One half of the rental fee is due when the reservation is made.

-The balance of the rental fee, which includes housekeeping and damage deposit is due 15 days prior to the arrival date.

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 7 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
