About this property

Unique and Spacious Artist's House 5 blocks from Main Street

This unique home used to be a granary! It has been converted to a beautiful, spacious and comfortable home by artists (us), with lots of interesting details, and you are also welcome to visit our glassblowing studio only a few steps away down the adjacent driveway.
There are abundant South facing windows meaning good views and sunny warmth any time of year. Everything is included: washer and dryer and large TV, full kitchen, etc.
The house is located only five blocks from Main Street, and two blocks from the Targhee Shuttle stop.
The upstairs has the master bedroom and a half bath, along with a very large common room with TV and walk in closet. Plenty of open space for stretching out after a long day! The couch can be folded down for another bed if needed.
There is a separate bedroom downstairs and a full bath with tub/shower, as well as the kitchen, dining room, and sitting room.
The dining room looks south and east to the Grand Tetons and is a wonderful place to be anytime of day.
The kitchen has a two person bar for relaxing while watching your friends cook for you.
We think you'll love it here! The common space is warm and inviting and the bedrooms are cozy and private. Lots of interesting art and unique history and architecture make it a really fun place to stay for a night or a month or more. (30 years for us.) The location 5 blocks from Main Street means you can walk to everything, but still feel relaxed and safe in your own house with beautiful mountain views. And, of course, you are only a few steps from the glass shop which you can tour too.

Excellent location for exploring
We stayed 6 nights in this lovely home. It was the perfect base camp for exploring a bit of Yellowstone as well as Grand Teton National Park and Jackson. We loved that the home was only 5 blocks to the main business district in Driggs. This made for an easy walk to dinner and no need to drive, even in the chilly November temperatures. The home has everything you need to prepare a meal, the bed was comfortable and the pellet stove kept us cozy and warm in the evenings. If you have the good fortune to stay here, be sure to check out the glass blowing studio that the hosts operate next door--beautiful work!

Host profile image
We are glassblowers who have lived in this house for 28 years, and recently decided in 2016 to build a new house right behind it and move. We love this house, but decided it was time for a change. Our glass studio, known as Heron Glass, is also here, as is a cottage which we have been renting for awhile too. So we have been hosts to travelers for about 7 years now and have received great reviews. Look under the Romantic Cottage in Driggs for those reviews.

Why they chose this property

The Granary is very cool! You can still see the stacked 2x4's in the downstairs, and even some grains stuck in the gaps, that have now been painted over. Having us nearby is helpful if you need anything or need advice for where to go. And you are welcome to check out our glass shop and watch us blow glass too!
