Keywords: Florence down town apartment, Duomo area, perfect location, luxury and comfortable and quiet, with listing 92298 more than 490 five stars review, great hospitality.

How to reach the apartments by car:

From the “A1” highway take the Firenze Sud exit. Follow the ramp all the way and cross the bridge on the Arno river; at the stop light at the bottom of the bridge, turn left and follow the directions for the Viali di Circonvallazione (the river should always be on your left!). Take the riverside avenue to the San Niccolò Bridge, exit to the left then turn right onto Viale Giovanni Amendola. Arriving at Piazza Beccaria – easily recognizable from the antique gate – continue straight to Piazza Donatello – with the cemetery in the center – and drive around that cemetery, following the signs for the ZTL (limited traffic zone) and the Santa Maria Nuova Hospital. Turn right at the first traffic light onto Via Alfieri, take the first right (Via Giusti); then take the first left (Borgo Pinti)

By Train.
From the Santa Maria Novella station you can reach the apartments by taxi, it is a short ride about 10 euro (we don’t recommend proceeding on foot, especially with luggage; the distance requires at least 20 minutes walking) or by bus, with line 14 (for Il Girone or Ripa), departing from the station. Get off at Colonna 01 stop. From here head towards Borgo Pinti on foot. In just a few minutes you will reach the apartments.
The best is to take a taxi!!!

By Plane
The ‘Amerigo Vespucci’ airport of Florence is 8.5 km away. To get to the apartment use the taxi service; travel time is 30 minutes, and the cost averages between 30 and 35 Euro. From the airport the shuttle goes directly to the Santa Maria Novella Station; from there you can proceed to follow the instructions outlined in the section ‘By Train’.

Something from the guest book, something about a cooking class and something about a Chianti tour with wine and oil tasting.

from the guest book:

We have lived in five different apartments in Florence over the last six years, and “Pinti 1” is easily our favorite; we lived there for over three months last year. It is beautifully and comfortably furnished, it’s stylish, and it clearly shows the love and care of its owner, Mrs. Claudia Morace. Borgo Pinti is a quiet, mostly pedestrian street. It’s off the “tourist track,” yet within easy walking distance to the historic center of the city. San Ambrogio market, the best market in Florence, is about seven minutes down the street. The apartment is on the top floor of a quiet building, up manageable flights of stairs. It has two floors: the top floor contains the master bedroom and bathroom and a small, quiet alcove for reading or other pursuits. The main floor contains the kitchen, dining area, living room, large bathroom, and guest room. Morning sunlight pours through the large living room window. There is a big dining room table – we seated eight for Thanksgiving dinner – and an abundance of dishes and pots and pans. The apartment is supplied with many quality bed linens and towels; there are three televisions, one in each of the bedrooms and one in the living room, and there’s a good desk where one can work at the computer; the apartment is wired for the internet. Easily our greatest surprise was that the apartment has screens, a luxury in Florence where mosquitoes seem to thrive year-round. A wonderful domestic, Marta, seems to know everything about the apartment, and if she can’t answer your questions, Mrs. Morace is only too happy to help. Speaking of Mrs. Morace, we have never met a more pleasant and accommodating landlady; the instant we met her we were struck by her warmth and friendship. We never felt that our relationship was “strictly business.” She and her beautiful apartment remain one of our happiest memories of Florence – where we hope to return very soon.

There is no elevator, but the climb is worth it. The steps bring you to a beautiful sunlit entrance to the flats.

Insider Tips: VRBO in Florence, Italy

Panorama of Florence, Italy, taken from the Piazza de Michelangelo.

This travel tip comes from my friend Shelley in San Diego, California, who stayed in a three-bedroom apartment - a 'dream in the heart of Florence' - in December. When she told me how perfect it was for her family, I couldn't resist sharing her comments with you. I love that it's in an upscale area and close to good neighborhood restaurants. It sounds like a great deal and someplace you might want to consider for the next time you travel to Italy.

Vacation rentals are great for authentic travelers who want to connect with the community and the local culture. In my opinion they are better than hotel accommodations for 3G (three-generation) family vacations.

Shelley:
'We had the pleasure of staying in Claudia's beautiful apartment while visiting our daughter who is studying in Florence. We arrived on Christmas day, which we expected to be less than convenient, but Claudia was gracious enough to let our daughter store some food in the kitchen and provide her with a key in advance so that we did not need to disturb anybody's holiday with our arrival. Additionally, the kitchen was stocked with water, juice, coffee, a fresh fruit basket, and wonderful olive oil that Claudia bottles herself

Beautiful Apartment in Florence CityCentre
I have nothing but great things to say about our stay at this apartment. Location was perfect, rooms were clean and the owner or assistant was always available if we had any questions. Of note, you have to go up 5 flights of stairs to get to apartment, no elevator. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Location!
This property was clean, neat, comfortable, and best of all, so close to all the sites, restaurants, markets and stores that one could explore all day! Just be prepared to walk up to the 4th floor! Good exercise though. Also, our host responded quickly to any texts we sent (but her assistant not as promptly) and I am sure the little problems we had were quickly dealt as we left.

Perfetto! Lovely apartment, great location!
What a beautiful apartment and gracious host! Claudia and Viviana were so helpful and welcoming, and made my stay in Florence a great one. The friend I was supposed to meet in Florence could not make it, and I was left on my own, but Viviana was able to meet me for a later check-in, and Claudia stayed in touch with me throughout my trip, so I did not feel so alone! The location of the apartment is perfect - I walked everywhere while in Florence. It's a very easy (approximately 10 minutes) to Piazza della Signoria (with Palazzo Vecchio and the Uffizi), a little less to the Duomo, the Bargello, and there are many other sites! To Palazzo Pitti it's about 20 minutes, and to the train station, about 15 - if you're considering doing your whole journey on foot, it is possible! Florence is the perfect city for walking - there aren't many hills or inclines, and the streets are so lively. Although I didn't need to, because there are a number of delicious places to eat nearby (okay, all over Florence!), and espresso directly across the street, I did cook a few times -- I couldn't resist the markets. Mercato di Sant’Ambrogio is close, as are a number of regular grocery stores. Pots and pans, dishes, coffee, tea, milk and sugar - the apartment is well stocked with whatever you need (even a dishwasher for easy clean up)! After so much walking, I was ready to crash each night, and everything was cozy, with a comfortable couch, nice linens and feather pillows on the bed, good water pressure and hot water. Oh - and I did have to do a bit of work - so I can confirm the wifi was great for Zoom calls! Thank you so much, Claudia! For your kindness, for the olive oil, and for everything! To anyone considering staying, I would definitely recommend this as a comfortable home base for your trip, and I hope to return soon!!

Host profile image
My name is Claudia Morace. I am 78 and I live in Chianti
I was not raised in the country, but I have always loved nature and consider myself a child of the forest and the sea.
I was born in Naples after the war to an Austrian mother and a Neapolitan father.
My mother was the only survivor in her family where they had all been victims of the Holocaust.
Her family disappeared and became ashes in the wind.
With her marriage to my father, she said, that he literally saved her life.
For my mother, I was the reason to keep living and I was the anchor that helped alleviate her guilt of surviving those horrible times.
I led a normal family life in our home near the sea in Naples, and summer in the mountains at my mother's family home.
At 19 I met the man who would change my life and it was love at first sight.
We married when I was 23 and we had three wonderful children.
My husband was a great sailor and from him I learned to enjoy long sailing trips, the wind through my hair, the magic of a starry sky.
We had it all.
In 1993 we celebrate 25 years of marriage in our summer home in Ischia.
It felt like nothing could spoil our fairy tale.
Sadly, two years later after a routine procedure, we received terrible news.
An inoperable cancer was found. We fought it and strongly believed we would prevail, but after 7 months my husband passed away.
Our world ceased to exist and we were breathless with grief.
There were very difficult years, but life must continue and I had to be strong for our children.
They grew up, married and moved away.
To day I have 8 wonderful grandchildren.
After many years I re-connected with a dear old friend who had also lost his wife.
We shared so many memories.
We met in Chianti. The beautiful hills of Tuscany warmed our souls and we decided we would start a new life together among the olive groves.
We purchased an old farmhouse surrounded by an ancient rose garden.
I sold my mother's home in Austria and I bought the two apartments in Florence.

Why they chose this property

The farmhouse had two hectares of olives, but the grove had been completely abandoned for a very long time.
The farmhouse and the apartments in Florence had to be restored.
It was 2003.
I discovered a new energy and life force.
I wanted to bring the beautiful estate back to life, and to make of the two apartments a place where my guests could enjoy peaceful days, unforgettable holidays.
I also fell in love with the olive grove and decided to create a very special extra virgin olive oil.
I took several different courses and studied diligently : It has been an incredible learning curve, but I continue to learn something new from each mistake and gain.
I listen to the wisdom of the local farmers and know I still have so much to learn.
It has been a long road and so much work.
I experienced a wonderful way of life and enjoyed the day to day adventures sharing life between Florence and Panzano.
From our house in Chianti I look over the hills at the changing seasons.
Spring brings the rose garden to life, summers are scented with the perfume of thyme and lavender.
The sunsets illuminate the olive groves with silver brilliance..
The autumn brings the oil and the grape harvest and lastly, winter brings us close to the fireplace watching the cypresses bend in the wind.
It is a time to rest.
Some days I glance far away on the horizon and I see a sailing boat in a strong wind. I feel this wind from the ocean as it mixes with the wind blowing through our olive groves breathing its life into our trees and surrounding us in peace.
