Holly Cottage is the perfect combination of old and new and has been eclectically restored with the addition of some modern comforts. If you're looking for a cottage with a difference then Holly Cottage is for you!
Holly Cottage is the perfect Daylesford escape. A cosy and comfortable Miner's cottage located only minutes from all that Daylesford has to offer. Nestled on Wombat Hill, Holly Cottage is a short walk to Cornish Hill and the Wombat Botanic Gardens. The main street, filled with cafes and shops, is only a 10 minute walk away (steep on the return!).
Saved from demolition and redevelopment you will notice that Holly Cottage is still undergoing minor works and the garden is being reestablished. We have tried to retain some of the old character and include the history of the cottage into the design. Notice the kitchen wallpaper decorated with 1940s and 1950s newspaper found in the house. Relax on the outdoor deck which is made from wood salvaged in the restoration. Sit at the kitchen table on the small stool reupholstered using the cottage's vintage curtains. And look out for the previous owner's firewood chopping block! Some of the walls are crooked, the front windows are original, and the roof is rusting - but this only adds to the charm.
Pets are welcome guests at Holly Cottage. Unfortunately there has been a complaint of barking so we ask that you make sure your dog is comfortable and not left alone during your stay. Please note that the cottage is fenced on all sides, however, it is your responsibility to check that your pet is secure at the cottage. Dogs are allowed inside, but please respect other guests and keep dogs off all furniture. Please clean up after your pooch. Food bowls are provided but you will need to bring bedding.
Please note: the shower is over the bath. The property may not be suitable for people requiring wheelchair access. The front porch does not have a rail.
This booking is for the entire house. Please message if you'd like the option of booking only one bedroom (the other 2 bedrooms will be locked).
