Serene and Peaceful Getaway
We booked the cottage for our friends as a joint gift/getaway for their 40th birthdays. Management were really accommodating, letting us get there before check-in and setup nibbles, hampers and some special goodies before our friends arrived. The photos do not do the property justice, it is much bigger than it looks, backs onto paddocks and a small creek and the bathroom is very luxurious. Highly recommend

Great fireplace but that’s all
The fireplace was great and plenty of wood to burn but that’s where it ends. The place looks like it had a surface clean but that’s it. Don’t look under the couch! We picked up all the old plastic cups under there but looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. All the benches were sticky and although lots of things supplied in the kitchen everything felt like it needed to be cleaned before using. The kettle was so bad I drove into town just to get a coffee. It is mentioned the main house is far enough away you won’t hear them but we were treated to what seemed to be a very repetitive bad savage garden concert blasted all day long. Could also do with a property book explaining what’s on offer and information regarding the facility. I have stayed in similar for way less. Premium property I think not.

We are country people at heart and have always loved horses. In fact when my husband Clancy had to pay his way through university he started a trail riding business in the Yarra Valley. We moved from NSW in search of the perfect horse property to bring up our family. We found it at Chum Creek. 136aces of horse and human heaven with 9 paddocks and 9 dams. We also love great food and wine so we well placed here in the Yarra Valley. We have put a lot of love into making Chum Creek Hut a pretty special place and we love sharing this amazing part of the world with our guests.
