A minimum 2 night stay is required during school holidays and public holidays.
XBS 2162 was originally a first class carriage that journeyed from Sydney to regional areas of NSW. It is situated in the middle of award winning wineries overlooking the beautiful Brindabella hills.

This vintage 1935 wood panelled carriage has the feel of old world elegance combined with modern day conveniences.

Last Stop Ambledown Brook is within walking distance of the three award winning Hills of Hall Wineries, Brindabella Hills, Pankhurst and Surveyors Hill and within a 20 minute drive of a dozen more nationally recognized cool climate wineries such as Doonkuna, Helms and Clonakilla.

Places to Eat
Within a 10 minute drive there are range of places to eat. Some of our guest's favourites are the 1882 Bar and Grill in Hall Village, George Harcourt Inn (an English Style Pub), The Gold Creek Country Club.
Within a 20 minute drive some favourites are Poachers Pantry ( ) near Hall as well as the large range of international restaurants found in Woolley Street Dickson.

Markets
For weekend guests there are a range of markets that sell everything from art, craft and regional produce to clothing, antiques and bric-a-brac.
The Hall Markets features hundreds of stalls and are held on the first Sunday of every month from 10am till 3pm.

Definitely a stay with a difference! Stepping back to years ago, here you will experience the travelling by train in 1935.

The views from the carriages were so lovely and it was so nice to see kangaroos every morning. David and Jenny were lovely hosts and very accommodating.

An experience
What a lovely stay. Friendly owners, great breakfast and such fun accomodation. Lovely wine farms are located close by and it is great to be in nature. The train was heated well, which was great for the cold winter nights!

Great novelty value for kids
The kids were pretty excited to be staying in a train carriage oozing with history. Jenny & David are great hosts. Highly recommend for a quiet, relaxing retreat with easy access to Canberra.
