The Bunkhouse offers the perfect accommodation for groups of up to 32 people. It consists of 2 main bedrooms, male and female, which each contain 7 bunk beds. Off these rooms there are bathrooms with 2 private showers and two toilets. There is another bedroom with 2 bunk beds which usually accommodates teachers or parents.
Pillows, linen and blankets are NOT provided and must be supplied by guests.
There is a well equipped kitchen which is adjacent to the large common room. This main room has 4 sofas and two large tables with chairs making it suitable for group meetings and activities.
There are two reverse cycle split systems and a wood heater(wood not supplied) There is a wall mounted flat screen television in the living area.
This property is owned and operated by the Wye River Surf Lifesaving Club and is booked out by the club over the summer period.
The Wye River store/restaurant and the Ocean Beach Hotel are within a 3 minute walk from the bunkhouse. Both serve meals.
Wye beach is also just a short walk away across the Great Ocean Road. Wye River is a renowned spot for great surfing and fishing.
The township is within the Otway ranges which means that there is plenty of birdlife and wildlife to be observed and enjoyed. There are many bush tracks suitable for bushwalking and trail riding groups.
The Bunkhouse is used by numerous schools for recreational camps for students. The Surf Lifesaving Club also hires out their clubrooms for functions if required.
