Superb place for a romantic weekend
Jenny and Dave were fantastic hosts, whilst the accommodations were comfortable and character filled the feel of the place outmatched any misgivings, I highly recommend a stay here. If you like high society then maybe not, but if you like real, then take the plunge and submerse yourselves in kangaroos, stunning sunsets and a wonderful getaway near Canberra. Highly recommended. Leave tik tok at the door.

Antique wonderment🌟
Look, let’s be clear- it’s an antique train carriage ...& some elements really feel that way..as gorgeous as they are.. Tho we managed to warm to the place, our first impressions weren’t great. We arrived on a super hot afternoon and the carriage faces east/west so it was HOT in there .. shame they hadn’t opened some windows or popped the aircon on as all I saw was blistering sun that highlighted the dusty antiques everywhere and it was like a sauna inside .. But once we got the windows open and air cons on (there are 3 of them - so it’s great that way!) we started to settle. It’s kooky and quaint.. But I’d never thought about the fact you can’t see out the windows unless you’re lying down or on a low seat - it’s a train! Tho we understand the homage to the original aspect - the windows could do with some love..remove the metal and put in pull up blinds maybe ..?? I dunno. Im a natural light person ... But the west-facing side means a lotta sun on a hot day. So the only option is to block out the view, batten down the hatches and pump the aircon. Shame to lose the view but let’s face it - how many hot days are there really in Canberra ..? There’s a lotta lovely touches that make it worth the stay .. - bed linen was divine and fresh With extras if we needed. Smelt great! - abundance of great towels, flannels etc - bathroom very clean and shower was great - awesome stereo and set of CDs - some of the best movie posters I’ve ever seen! - sunset on west deck is lovely if the sun is not too brutal .. - kangaroos happily about everywhere .. and we even saw a wombat! - walking distance to great wineries - some yummy eateries also close by like Poachers Pantry - we like to brew our Italian espresso so loved having a stove - washing machine and line super handy also Oh - there’s also no phone Reception or wifi down there if that’s an issue. We were fine to be off the grid at Xmas time - sometimes it worked if you took a walk outside Hosts are super lovely - Jenny and David. Didn’t make it up early enough for breakfast but that tells you how well we slept.. We’d go back - maybe in Spring Thanks again
