About this property

Prime Location at North Beach, don't settle for block walk to beach.

Thank you for your interest in the Sand Trap Beach House. The Sand Trap is located in the prime area of North Beach in the Monroe Park area. It is just steps from the beach. No Stairs or inclines to get to the beach, steps to the concession stand & the swings on North Beach. The Sand Trap has four bedrooms and 2 full baths plus an additional enclosed outdoor shower. All bedrooms are located on the second floor. The master bedroom has a King bed (a twin mattress in underneath the bed), it features a 2nd story deck that overlooks the lake and the beach. The second & third bedrooms each have a queen bed, and the fourth bedroom has two twin beds. The family room & master bedroom have TV's, the house is equipped with wifi, there is a dining room off of the kitchen. The kitchen has all of the amenities that you need. When you first enter the home, there is a small sun room, which is a nice room to sit at the table to play cards etc. The outside front of the house has a patio with two tables and plenty of chairs for outdoor eating.
As of summer of the 2017 Season: We have renovated the Sand Trap. It was just completed for the summer 2017 rental season. We gutted the kitchen and both of the bathrooms. We converted one of the half baths to a full bath. As of the 2017 rental season, there is a brand new kitchen and two new full bathrooms & new windows in 90% of the house.

Other Ammenities: Other amenities: free wifi, A/C (Central air), 3 televisions, DVD player, cable in family room, smart tv in master bedroom, tv w/ cable in 3rd bedroom. Gas grill, enclosed out door shower, New Washer/ Dryer. Kitchen: oven/range, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, coffee maker (standard coffee maker & Keurig), blender, everything you need for cooking. Beach umbrella & beach chairs. Bikes are kept at the back of the house for your use but we can't guarantee their condition from week to week. Plenty of chairs for sitting on the patio and for outdoor eating. Max capacity - 8 Adults or 9 total with kids & adults.

The Sandtrap
The property was ok … all the bedrooms are upstairs , and stairs were narrow and steep .so getting out luggage up and down took some effort …. The kitchen was nice , had about anything you needed … nice appliances … The evening before we left, there was no hot water , that was disappointing . We love the area , so we’ll come back here next year, but probably won’t rent the SandTrap again …

The Green House
There were 8 ladies all 76 years old the house was very convenient for all of us the stairs to upper part were not bad one lady slept on couch down stairs because she is with a walker but said the couch was very comfy. The only one thing the VCR was not plugged in and we were not sure what to do because there were no outlets for it but other than that the house was nice.

Mother/Daughter Trip
This property is a perfect location to be on the beach in less than 3 minutes! The house is older and has lots of diy work in it, as well as inconvenient electrical outlets (gals with lots of hair tools and Apple products😉) but it is a wonderful location so all those issues were secondary. The beds were all very comfortable and there was plenty of hot water and great water pressure. We had a bit of a gas smell scare but it turned out to probably be a gas grill nearby. Kari, the owner, was very responsive and helpful. The one thing that was inconvenient was the requirement to have towels washed, dried, and put away before checking out at 10:00 AM. Same for the dishwasher plus we had to wash off the outdoor tables and water the flowers each night. Places we have rented in other beach communities have never asked the put away job to be done. I have washed towels and dishes during longer stays but the most required before leaving was wash them and then the housekeepers would dry and put away. We have never had to put a final load away…just start it before leaving. We didn’t think we could get everything done and out by 10:00 so we opted to forego showering and dried our faces and hands with paper towels in the morning. Those instructions seemed like work when we wanted to have a more relaxed three days away. All in all, we had a great stay and the location would bring us back again, but wanted to explain why we couldn’t give 5 stars.

Another great year!
Well another lovely year vacationing on the North Beach in South Haven is in the books! We regularly stay at the Sand Trap because it is a lovely house that accommodates our family and close to the beach. Highly recommend!!!

What makes this property unique

We renovated the Sand Trap last winter and it was completed spring of 2017. We gutted the kitchen and both of the bathrooms, and installed new windows in 90% of the house. The result is a brand new kitchen and two newly remodeled bathrooms. We plan to put new sofa's in the Sand Trap for the 2019 rental season, we will also be remodeling the master bedroom.
