About this property

Sugarloaf Dairy, Dungog

Welcome to Sugarloaf Dairy, circa 1906 - an eclectic mix of vintage style with contemporary comforts.

Sugarloaf Dairy is the perfect escape, a character-filled quintessential timber weatherboard farmhouse steeped in history and situated in a peaceful Valley only 5kms from historic Dungog. Whilst staying at the dairy you have access to the surrounding gardens, orchards and paddocks. Enjoy the stunning views from the wrap-around veranda or take a stroll through the beautiful gardens down to the freshwater creek. Perfect for entertaining with Ilve stove and large farmhouse table, or bbq in the shady pergola.

The interior is simple but stylish, whitewashed walls, vintage furniture, stainless steel appliances, organic cotton bedlinen and towels. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 with queen beds, the 3rd with two single beds that can be joined to make a queen.

We now have 2 bathrooms.

There is a woodburning combustion heater plus a gas fire for colder evenings, or reverse cycle airconditioning for summer.

A stockyard and paddocks are available for guests who wish to bring their own horses, well behaved dogs are also welcome but please contact us for conditions. Dogs are charged at $20 per dog, per visit.

The century old dairy was decommissioned many years ago however still takes pride of position alongside the restored farmhouse.

Eco-friendly and Organic

Our aim is to be as environmentally friendly as possible, without compromising on comfort. We try to avoid using any chemicals or pesticides on the property. Earth friendly cleaning products are used in the house and organic shampoos, conditioners, soap and skin care products are provided for guests.

The kitchen is well stocked with basic ingredients and there are some excellent shopping facilities in Dungog, or we can direct guests to a website where they can order local organic produce and have it delivered for a small charge.

The best wedding get away!
We recently stayed at Sugarloaf for our wedding and it was just the perfect place to get ready and enjoy in the lead up to our special day! Everything about it, from the stunning and whimsical garden to the quirky and fun decor is perfect for a beautiful country get away! The bridal party got ready here and it was just such a calm and beautiful environment to get ready! Ash was incredibly helpful leading up to our stay and offered lots of local knowledge. She was also amazing during our stay, leaving us eggs and dishwashing tablets in the letterbox for us, and even a beautifully thoughtful gift for the bride. We absolutely loved our stay here and will definitely be back again! Maybe for our anniversary :)

Thanks for everything Ash and Bruce! Xo ~Bridget
