Comments from previous guests:

Just a note of feedback after our stay at 18 Mile last weekend – we all had an absolute ball! The kids had some much needed space and freedom and made the most of it all. We adults also loved being there, especially the outdoor fire and chance to sit around and do very little, since the kids needed no entertainment from us! We are all keen to arrange another weekend in summer, if not before. Please pass on our thanks to Jan for having us and checking in on us when we arrived. You will be hearing from us again!

There will be many more "next times" - we just love it down there in the Lost World Valley, and had exceptionally relaxing and enjoyable time.

Great stay out in nature
We were a group of 10 adults and we had a lovely time on this spacious property. The no internet was a welcome change however it might be a good idea to have someone with a Telstra service as most of us couldn't make calls

I am passionate about providing excellent holiday accommodation and service to our guests!
Married with five children, I understand the importance of great family holidays. Some of our fondest memories have come about from past times spent together at family-friendly holiday locations.
My husband, Murray, spent most of his growing up years at this property. He, along with three of our sons currently run a beef cattle farm in the surrounding paddocks of both the cottage and homestead. Murray is also really enthusiastic about sharing this fantastic property with guests, as does his dear mum, Jan.

Why they chose this property

Only a 90 minute drive from Brisbane CBD and the Gold Coast.
Family owned and operated property for four decades.
Excellent for families and groups of all ages.
A very homey, comfortable and spacious house.
Large deck situated beside an in-ground swimming pool with views of the surrounding countryside.
Location private and scenic, a part of Scenic Rim Queensland.
Inground private swimming pool with large deck close beside.
Close access to Albert River which runs through the Eighteen Mile property.
Opportunities to hike and explore, including nearby access to Lamington National Park. Opportunities to see a beef cattle farm in operation, and sometimes guests enjoy participating a little.
Outdoor and indoor fire areas, excellent for private campfire experience.
Table tennis and board games available.

What makes this property unique

Relatively close to city life (Brisbane) though very much 'away from it all.'
Eighteen Mile Homestead offers the ability to experience genuine Australian bushland/countryside plus beef cattle and small crops farming without having to travel very many kilometres to do so.
Great, open, dark skies at night for stargazing.
Ability for outdoor campfires - cooking plate provided.
