About this property

The gate to Villa Raedward

The clean, contemporary architecture of the Gatehouse contrasts nicely with the owners' Palladian villa with the pair set in a lovely semi-formal garden with views out over the Yarra Valley to the mountains beyond. Each suite has its own carport, private entrance and patio with a stunning garden view. Inside there is everything for your comfort and enjoyment with an open plan, fully equipped kitchen, dining and lounge room and a separate bedroom with a queen bed. The marble bathroom has a full-sized shower, heated towel rails, and a double spa overlooking a charming and secluded fernery or Japanese-inspired garden. Your pleasure is further enhanced by the fluffy bathrobes, Gilchrist and Soames toiletries, complimentary slippers, complimentary wi-fi, Kennedy and Wilson chocolates and a selection of the latest magazines. You can also have an in-suite massage. Soooo relaxing you'll never want to leave.

Things to do and see

The Gatehouse is located in the heart of the Yarra Valley with over 60 wineries within a 12 kilometre radius offering fine wines, wonderful food and friendly assistance. If you prefer beer or cider then there are three breweries and several cider producers to sample and enjoy. The Valley's top restaurants including Eleonore's at Chateau Yering, Bella Vedere, Healesville Hotel, and The Vines at Helens Hill are all just a short ride away. If you're into excitement and adventure then there's hot air ballooning, helicopter and plane rides, sky-diving, gliding, trail walking, golf or horse riding to choose from. For a more relaxing time there are winery tours, concerts, art galleries and museums, charming villages, the native animals at Healesville Sanctuary, Hedgend Maze or just enjoy the wonderful scenery.

Getting married or going to a wedding?

The Gatehouse is located in close proximity to several of the Yarra Valley's premier wedding venues including Stones of the Yarra Valley, Yering Station, Chateau Yering, The Vines at Helen's Hill, Yering Farm and Gulf Station.

Stunning property in a cute location
The host John was very warm and friendly on arrival. Check in was a breeze as was organising breakfast materials prior to our turning up. The property itself is absolutely gorgeous, with all the amenities you need to enjoy a comfortable stay. Genuinely felt like a home from home. The grounds around the property are also lovely, perfect for a quick morning walk post breakfast. Would highly recommend and definitely will come back in future. 😊

About the host

Host profile image
We built the Villa and Gatehouse at the same time. The Gatehouse is purpose-built to provide two, self-contained suites for the comfort and enjoyment of guests.

Why they chose this property

We like being as close to the city as possible while still being in the country. With the centre of the city 45 minutes away and the beautiful Yarra Valley views from our property we think we succeeded in having the best of both worlds.

What makes this property unique

The Yarra Valley is a lovely place to live and there's always something interesting happening as well as great restaurants, wines and wineries and a good array of interesting shops to explore.
