About this property

Secluded Red River Gorge Pet-Friendly Cabin on 3 acres (Serenity Falls)

Serenity Falls Cabin is located on 3 acres in the middle of a canyon with breathtaking views. The cabin is conveniently located on Hwy 11, half a mile from Torrent Falls, 4 miles from Natural Bridge State Park and a half of a mile from Red River Rock House restaurant, but is very secluded. Wifi, Netflix, Hulu and upgraded cable subscriptions included.

The cabin sits in the middle of a horseshoe shaped canyon. There are unique areas around the property to explore including multiple creeks, beautiful old trees and rock formations that can only be found in the Red River Gorge. There is a seasonal waterfall that you can see from the porch. The waterfall runs in the Winter, Fall and Spring or after several days of hard raining. It is a 3 minute walk up to the cabin from the parking area, but it is well worth the seclusion and beauty of this cabin. There is a fire pit where you can cook over the fire, grill out on the charcoal grill, or cook in the newly remodeled kitchen. The cabin offers indoor or outdoor seating for meals and a large Charcoal grill for cooking. There are two Adirondack chairs situated under the canyon, which makes a relaxing spot for coffee in the morning, especially when it is raining. You can look out to the beautiful horse shoe canyon from the hot tub. This is truly a special, secluded cabin!

The cabin has 3 beds. One private master bedroom with a California King bed with a large hand made barn door. There is a loft containing two Queen beds divided by a wall. There is a nice sized couch for sleeping and extra comforters, blankets and pillows. The bathroom walls are made of 100 year old barn wood.

Comfortable beds, hardwood floors throughout the cabin, and a very efficient Woodstock wood stove. Firewood provided. Located in the woodshed in the parking area.

You are welcome to bring your dog/dogs they will enjoy the vacation as much as you with all of the creeks and woods to play in!

Check in is at 2pm. Check out is at 10am.

We welcome any questions that you may have about the property.

A welcome retreat
We came "from the city" with our four sons for some R&R in the Red River Gorge and staying at Serenity Falls was the highlight of our trip. The seclusion and nature was a welcome retreat and our boys had a blast exploring the property! My 8, 10, and 16 year old's climbed around the canyon, played in the creek, and felt like they were in a movie set. My 13 year old (who is a little less outdoorsy) loved just hanging out in the hot tub, or sitting in the chairs by the fire. There was something for everyone! Not to mention the cabin was a short distance from Miguel's Pizza (a fun pizza place with a bball court for the kids to play), and the Rock House which served up some of the best burgers we've ever eaten. We hope to make another visit to Serenity Falls!

Love love love this place
Came here for spring break with my two boys ages 12 and 14. To be honest, they were not excited to be headed to Kentucky, but little did they know what we had in store! After walking up the stairs, and seeing the cabin, they were thrilled! They each had their own bed up in the loft and I had the comfy, comfy bed and the primary bedroom that is surrounded by windows. We had so much fun, climbing the Varada, and doing repelling at the southeast Michigan mountain guides, which is very very close. Also love the proximity to also many restaurants like Hops and Red Point bbq and red river rock house. Sitting in the hot tub and looking around at all the formations in the cove around the cabin was awesome. As was the little walk to the waterfall. Loved having coffee in the chairs while hearing the waterfall and watching the rain but staying dry. Loved every minute of this trip. Thanks Felicia.

Second Stay, Just As Special as The First
We love staying at Serenity Falls. We’re native plant lovers, and the botanical diversity around the cabin is amazing. And the waterfall, caves, and rock formations—it’s really like having your own tiny little park to explore! The cabin itself is comfy and old school—mismatched dishes, sturdy furniture, nothing fussy or silly. Very comfortable bed. Nice bathroom. Lovely firepit. The hot tub is really soothing after a day of climbing around looking at plants. And it’s a dog paradise, as long as your dog is pretty agile and has good recall. Pack light, as the stairs to the cabin are numerous and steep in some places. There’s a strategically placed resting bench if you need it, and it’s a good warm up for the walk/climb to the waterfall. We’re not young (this trip was in celebration of my husband’s 60th birthday) and we’d rate the stairs and the waterfall trail as moderately challenging, but not scary. If you’re an experienced hiker, you won’t bat an eye. If you’re a couch potato, then you might need that bench halfway up, lol. If you decide to leave the canyon (and you might not!), you’re literally minutes away from several restaurants, plus a few souvenir/convenience stores and kayak rental sites. And Natural Bridge State Park is almost next door. Really, Serenity Falls is the perfect blend of privacy, convenience, nature, comfort, and classic cabin living. We’ll be back for a third stay!

Amazing is an Understatement
Everyone says this is amazing. That is an understatement. The Serenity waterfall was incredible just out the back door. The little hike to the falls was fun, with chairs along the way. We are not touristy people, but if you are, the cabin is just up the road from Natural Bridge State Park. Icicles were breaking off the gorge walls by the cabin, and it was so fun to listen and watch. There are about thirty stairs to the cabin, and my wife does not know what the term "pack light" means, so we should have packed differently. We travel using big tubs and bags would work better to the hike to the cabin. The cabin is close to the trails we love to hike (Indian Staircase, Courthouse Rock...) Clean and all the stuff you need for a great stay. Master bed is very comfy. We always cook all our food and it had everything we needed. We can't wait for our next stay!

We both live in Lexington, Kentucky. For a number of years, we had wanted to purchase a property in the Red River Gorge. When we found this place, we knew it was the one! We enjoy hiking and traveling. We have a dog, Sadie, who loves hiking with us in the Gorge.

Why they chose this property

This cabin has been our dream. We are so very lucky to be able to share this beautiful property! As soon as you cross the bridge over the creek and walk up to the house, you will understand why we chose this property. It is beautiful and a true representation of the uniqueness of the Red River Gorge.

What makes this property unique

The land surrounding the property is absolutely gorgeous. Sitting on the porch and looking up at the rock wall and the trees is very relaxing. During the Fall, winter and Spring you will likely catch the waterfall running in the back of the property.
