About this property

Tree & Sea - Stylish house, gorgeous bush views & short walk to beach

Tree & Sea is an ideal getaway, combining every comfort you need with relaxed stylish décor and peaceful Australian bush views.

Opening the front door, Tree & Sea transforms from a simple cottage to a gorgeous architecturally designed house, with an open plan design and vaulted ceilings. Your eyes will be drawn to the wall of glass doors that open the living area fully to the large covered balcony, looking over the back garden and adjoining natural bushland.

This elevated bush outlook is unique for Callala Beach rentals, whilst still only a short walk to the beach. Perfect for relaxing any time of day or night, with a large BBQ, corner lounge setting and steamer deck chair.

The house was designed to comfortably suit two families holidaying together, and happily accommodates young children and adults whilst ensuring that everyone has the space they need. It is also suitable for up to 3 couples, as each bedroom has a queen bed. The bed count can extend to 10, by using the single day-bed in the top living room (which is a real single bed with mattress).

THE HOUSE

The original part of the house features a sunny living room opening to the front porch and garden through bi-fold doors. Off this room there are two bedrooms, one set up with bunks, and a large family bathroom including a corner bath tub that can accommodate multiple little kids enjoying bath time together.

Through a large sliding door, the modern kitchen is truly the heart of this home, with an eat-in table that doubles as the perfect spot to bring people together for group meal preparation. The kitchen has everything you need for both cooking and serving delicious meals, as well as a range of basic kitchen supplies.

Down a short set of stairs is the third bedroom with en suite and another open plan living/dining area. The dining area, with a table for 8 that easily extends to seat 10-12, is a great spot to use the many board games and puzzles that are provided. As well as the view, the living area has a gas fireplace for instant heat in cooler weather.

All the bedrooms feature large windows to catch the sea breeze, ceiling fans, and quality bed linen beautifully ironed.

Please note the property prices are valid until the 27/1/24 (Australia Day 2024), thanks.

THE OUTDOORS

The fully fenced property means you can relax if your stay includes small children or dogs. There are level lawns both front and back, and play can be supervised from the comfort of the living zones.

The fabulous rear balcony is the ideal spot to relax after a day at the beach with it's lounge and BBQ. The back garden has a shady pergola, another table setting and outdoor hot shower, perfect for washing off the salt water when you are home from the beach.

THE LOCAL AREA

Callala Beach is a stunning, quiet beach that is perfect for children. It is just a 2 minute drive or 7 minute walk (at small children pace!) from the house. The beach is dog friendly with off leash zones.

The area is perfect for fishing and boating (6 min drive to Myola or Callala Bay boat ramps), surfing, diving, snorkeling, dolphin and whale watching tours (from Huskisson) and bushwalking. Surfing beaches are close by at Culburra (15 mins) and Currarong.

The Club Callala (RSL & Country Club) with restaurant, bar and 18 hole golf course is just 350m away at the end of the street.

Just a 4 minute drive away, Callala Bay has a range of shops including an IGA supermarket, butcher, bakery, cafe, fishing supplies, chemist and bottleshop. There is a Woolworths at Culburra (15 min drive) and a large selection of shops for any other needs in Nowra (20 min drive).

A trip to the cinema is possible with two great options at Nowra and Huskisson.

The house and garden were well set up with everything you could want. Lots of varied reading material and entertainment options for all ages. The front yard fence was a bit low if you have a jumping kind of dog, but was fine for our Shepherd. Great back deck with fabulous outlook. Very comfortable all round. We will certainly be going back! Wonderful beach too!

Really enjoyed the staying in the house and area. It suited a couple of friends as we could have our own space. The back deck was delightful.

Mini Beach Break
3 couples looking for a stress free few nights by the beach.. and we got it! The property was well located, with a lovely outlook over bush and trees from the back deck. Very well appointed with plenty of cutlery, crockery and kitchen items which was appreciated! Only drawback was no air con - not a huge problem for 3 nights but could be for a weekly stay at the height of summer. Would definitely recommend Tree &Sea!

Relaxing stay
We loved our stay at David’s house. The property was well equipped, quiet and relaxing. Our child especially loved the range of kids books there. Walking distance to the beach. Wish we could have stayed longer!

A family of four, we live in a terrace house in Sydney and Tree & Sea has been our escape to open space, outdoor living and water sports - swimming, surfing, boating. We bought this house when we had a toddler and a newborn baby and it continues to suit us so well now that we have teenagers. The house was designed to suit our desire to share quality and relaxing time away with our dearest family and friends. The house is often full and we have made fabulous memories here with those we love.

Why they chose this property

After many trips north of Sydney looking for the perfect weekender, we were frustrated by the distance, ongoing development and traffic on the commute north. We turned south and on our first trip we discovered Callala Beach and knew we had found the place for us. The combination of the spectacular natural beauty of Jervis Bay, the many national parks and the quiet uncrowded spaces won our hearts. And with Callala Beach we found a friendly little community without any pretentions.

Very quickly we bought this property. The original house was a cute but humble beach shack. What made us fall in love with this place was the setting - a few minutes stroll to the beach but instead of being hemmed in by other houses, this place sat up high and looked out on a natural bushland setting. Paradise! Perfect any time of the day.

What makes this property unique

It's all about the back balcony and open plan living, the house can be full of people but doesn't feel crowded. The decor is relaxed but stylish, with plenty of places to read, play, nap or share a beer or cocktail or two.
