About Robyn Wellock
We are a family run business with modern and Federation buildings sharing the one delightful garden setting. We are Tasmanian born and bred , growing up within 5 minutes of our property Werndee , and can share all our local Tasmanian, food and travel tips.
Robyn Wellock purchased this Apartment in 2004
Why Robyn Wellock chose Mount Stuart
Werndee is a grand old Federation mansion built around 1903 built originally for the first premier of Tasmania , Sir Neil Elliott Lewis. We grew up in Mt Stuart and have always loved the area , close to the city but away from the hustle and bustle of crowded city streets and noisy people traffic!
What makes this Apartment unique
We consider ourselves as caretakers of our beautiful Werndee and are willing to share it's fascinating history and show interested guests around. Our garden is large and full of roses and fruit trees and berries and we make jams and marmalades for our guests to indulge in.

Very comfortable and homely
The host Robyn was very cordial and helpful. The ground floor house we stayed in was quite comfortable and homely. It had a few nice touches like a pack of Tim tams, home made jams etc. the bedrooms were very cosy and heating was comfortable. The only criticism would be the photo of the house shown in the stayz website was not the one we got to stay. The residence shown on the website was majestic, old and rustic. We were hoping we would be staying there. Please show a true photo of the apartment in the website.
Fantastic place to stay, awesome location, immaculately clean and comfortable.
It was wonderful to have a spacious apartment for the weekend where our dog was also welcomed by the kind and helpful owners. The location is fantastic, perfect for going out and about, or to utilise the local shops close by and cook and rest in the comfort of the exceptionally clean unit. Classy dog friendly cafes nearby and two fantastic off leash dog exercise areas in walking distance. Robyn and Jan were lovely and offered lots of local information for our stay. Many thanks for a beautiful place to stay. The pride you take in your accommodation service is admirable and was very much enjoyed and appreciated.
So glad you and your lovely daughter and well behaved dog enjoyed your stay with us. We were very happy to recommend Soundy's dog park and the Creek Rd park and rivulet walk , not to mention Whisk a nearby cafe in Augusta Rd.
We look forward to welcoming you all back again on your next visit to Hobart.
Quality Apartment and Outstanding Hosts
Werndee is a fabulous property. Our apartment was very clean, comfortable and warm. The extra touches were greatly appreciated. The property is very close to the centre of Hobart and to bus routes. The hosts are very thoughtful and go out of their way to accommodate guests' individual needs. They are very understanding about pets with special needs and kindly allowed our beloved, but anxious dog to stay. We will certainly be asking to stay at Werndee again! We could not have asked for anything better.
Thank you , it was our pleasure. We couldn't have asked for kinder more considerate guests !
Enjoyed our stay very much, apartment very cosy and owners very helpful. Well situated as very close to North Hobart's bars and restaurants. Would definately stay there again.
Handy location near North Hobart food outlets yet quiet at night for sleeping. Lovely views over Hobart. Extremely helpful host.
Very clean and all the essentials were provided. The location is great if you dont mind a pleasant walk to nearby cafes in Nth Hobart. The second bed is in the lounge though which took us by surprise but we did appreciate the breakfast essentials tht were provided. We could easily stay here again.
Thanks Kate , it was nice to meet you and I enjoyed our chat about our cats ! I'm sorry that you were taken by surprise though by the second bed , as it clearly states in the cottage's description that there is a "single bed in a corner of the spacious living room" in addition to the queen bed in the one bedroom.
Quiet suburb on the edge of North Hobart's bustling cafe , cinema and gallery scape. Beautiful old buildings and leafy gardens all around. Some apartments have water and city views and its just a 30 minute walk to Hobart's waterfront.
Mona is just a 10 minute drive plus Mt Wellington , another must see, is just a 30 minute drive to its pinnacle.
Salamanca Market is a 35 minute walk or 8-10 minute drive away.
We are also just around the corner from Hobart's most frequent bus service and one of the city's best grocery stores is just a 4 minute walk from us, one of the Hill St IGA chain.
