About this property

Pisgah Prost! Haus In Secluded Woods Near Hiking, Biking & Breweries

We tapped into our German heritage a bit as the inspiration for this vacation haus. Prost means the same thing as “cheers” or “salut!” You will be surrounded by some of the best breweries in the world. This is the perfect place to make a toast with craft beer, mead, cider or wine.

We hope that you also enjoy some calorie burning hikes and bike rides, and find plenty of reasons to raise a glass and say “Prost!” with your friends.

Our house is located off of a secluded drive in Pisgah Forest. The deck overlooks beautiful trees, including some gorgeous hemlocks which are becoming few and far between in the Carolinas. You will spend most of the time on the back deck looking at some incredible trees and a distant mountain skyline.

The main bathroom is located off the master bedroom, and the half bathroom is located off the second bedroom. There is a detached third room located off the garage with a futon for extra sleeping room but does not have it's own bathroom. This room also has strong wifi and could be used as an office space.

We have a great coffee maker (Bonavita) and a coffee grinder. There is a coffee roasting company in Brevard and Oskar Blues also has some great coffee beans for sale in their brewery store.

10 minutes outside downtown Brevard, Pisgah National Forest and DuPont.

Crystal Mountain Gem Mine and Elijah Mountain Gem Mine are also worth visiting. Kayaking and water tubing offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with rock climbing and cycling nearby.

Nice, quiet spot!
This property is a very cute and comfortable home in a quiet area. Basics are provided and the deck and backyard are so pleasant. We had our dog with us and he definitely gave it 4 paws up as he had a blast investigating the fenced yard! Trails and stores are a 15-20 minute drive so it was conveniently located. Will return for sure.

Amazing family and MTB HQ
The property was lovely and accommodated us with our dog and multiple bikes perfectly. The garage was ideal for bike storage and maintenance and easy for loading/unloading from the car, and the fenced-in yard allowed our pup some freedom for roomies without fear of running off in a new place. We enjoyed the lovely back yard with fire pit, and the owner provided plenty of dry firewood to keep our outdoor evening enjoyable and worry-free. Amenities in the house provided plenty - a stocked kitchen for home-cooking, a TV for movies to unwind on the couch - couldn't have asked for more to suit our needs. Beyond the house itself, the Pisgah Prost! House was very central to all the places we wanted to bike, hike, and dine, as well as minutes away from bicycle shops, breweries, and downtown Brevard. We would absolutely stay here again!

Great stay at a great location
Everything was great! Our 2 dogs loved running all over the fenced yard. We have plenty of privacy but yet was super close to hiking, good food, and town activities.

Exactly as advertised
We enjoyed our stay at Prost and we were pleasantly surprised to find it exactly as advertised. It was comfortable and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. The neighborhood is quiet and no issues to speak of. The only thing that you need to understand is that the third bedroom is not part of the main house and does not have a bathroom. My wife referred to it as her she shed and enjoyed going there for peace and quiet. The location is only 11 minutes to Dupont State Park and 15 minutes to Brevard. We would rent this place again.

Secluded cabin in the mountains
The house was perfect for us. Our daughter was with us, works from home, so the room in the back was perfect for her. Our 30 pound dog loves to play ball so we spent a lot of time in the fenced yard. Location was really convenient to all we wanted to do.

I'm a graphic designer by trade but have many led me to Pisgah for enjoying my vacation time. I enjoy craft beer, mountain biking, road biking, coffee roasting, art, this area is a great place to enjoy it all.

Why they chose this property

We loved that this house was close to amazing trails & breweries, but is also in a secluded neighborhood that allows for some privacy. It's not in a typical, crowded suburban neighborhood, but is also not so secluded that it takes a long time to get to town. It's only 10 minutes from Brevard, Pisgah, DuPont and Hendersonville, and only 40 minutes from Asheville. We love visiting Asheville for a day, but like getting away from the busy traffic and into the woods and waterfalls for most of a trip.

What makes this property unique

The 2BR home has wifi throughout, a great deck in the backyard overlooking tall trees with no neighbors in sight. There are two garage stalls for housing your car and/or biking and camping gear. A bonus room sits off the back of the garage (a few steps off the deck) with an additional futon bed for additional sleeping.
