About this property

Spacious Country Retreat. Recharge & Reconnect w/ Nature, Family & Friends

Inspired by family, friendship and love...this 1940's farmhouse offers a relaxing and peaceful retreat. Perfect for large groups traveling together to nearby tourist attractions such as Yosemite National Park. Chic art/décor adorns the interior of the home, flowing white curtains and large selection of books throughout the home will also make for a quiet romantic getaway for two.
In the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas, the farmhouse is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Large gated lot, easily accommodates multiple vehicles, RV, trailer or boat parking.
It is within walking distance to a gas station/mini mart for those last minute needs. The winery across the street is part of the Madera Wine Trail and offers wine tasting 7 days a week. There is a Yosemite Area Regional Transit pick up stop 2 miles down the street from the house. For $6/person you can get a ride to the Yosemite National Park Valley!
The farmhouse has a large eating area that can accommodate up to 12. Or you can take advantage of the picnic table on the porch and dine al'fresco as you watch the sun set over the Central Valley. The deep porch offers a great spot to read a book with a glass of wine on a rainy day!
Bedroom #1 offers 2 bunk bed sets (twin over full size beds), which can sleep 6. Bedroom #2 has an open closet and features a Queen size bed. Bedroom #3 has 2 twin beds and leads into the large master bedroom which has a California King size bed and sitting areas.
There is a playground for young kids behind the house and is within sight from the kitchen/dinning table. This side of the property does get some highway noise, however the home is well insulated and when inside, the highway noise is not an issue. The exterior west side is shielded from the noise which allows you to enjoy the porch and outdoor dinning area. Bald Eagles nest nearby and can sometimes be seen soaring over the field to the west of the farmhouse. Just one more reason to take advantage of the porch!
The farmhouse is located 15 minutes from Table Mountain Casino, Chuckchansi Gold Resort & Casino and Millerton Lake,. Millerton Lake has multiple picnic areas, where you can enjoy fishing, swimming, boating, or walk the trail that wraps around the lake.
One of the property owners works in the metal shop near the house and is available for any questions, concerns you may have.
We have great contacts for in-home chef's, mobile masseuse, limo/boat/jet ski/rentals, in home health care etc. We look forward to helping you make the most of your vacation!

Horrible experience
The property owner canceled on us the day of our reservation, I reached out to them because we had not received the access code to enter the home and we were on our way driving there already. When the owner informed me that supposedly her house was not supposed to be on the site to rent and that she had received no communication at all in regards to our reservation. Which I find that pretty hard to believe because I made the reservation three weeks prior and they took my payment instantly so I don’t see how she did not get not one communication in regards to my reservation. Very disappointed in the site altogether the company did nothing to help accommodate us being that we were out of a place to stay the day of while we were on our way to our R,Very disappointed in the site altogether the company did nothing to help accommodate us being that we were out of a place to stay the day of while we were on our way to our destination. Incredible Hospitality
Our stay was wonderful. We were greeted with a nice welcome sign and welcome gifts. We were so touched by the owner's friendliness. The house was very spacious and comfortable. My daughters loved looking at the cows in the pasture. If I'm in the Fresno area again, I will definitely book this house.

Great place
We stayed at the ranch house for 1 week. It was very peaceful and we had plenty of space for 3 teenagers and 2 adults. Swamp coolers worked great even at F102. Great sunsets every night. Would stay at the Ranch house any time again.

Lots of space & super mellow.
The farmhouse is lovely. It is a large property with plenty of room for relaxing in multiple spaces. The extra amenities - toiletries and snacks - were such a nice touch! Our family needed a stopping point on the way back from Yosemite to L.A., and I also had a meeting in Fresno (about 30 minutes away (P.S. get your food there in advance -- the pizza places we tried won't deliver that far out)) and this was a great stopping point. When we choose places to stay, a big priority for us is privacy and we also really need places and spaces for our little ones (preschool and elementary school age) to just play. We got what we needed in terms of both priorities. The kids really liked the bunk beds and staying up late talking. We (my husband) actually brought a bb-gun and shot cans in the field. Not something we could do in Los Angeles! Previous guests broke the swingset = ( but they are replacing it soon so be sure to ask if this is important to you. There are a few toys in the house and some books and crayons, so the kids found activities. Overall, I highly recommend. It's a nice, mellow place to be.

About the host

Hosted by Damaris Lambrecht

Host profile image
Matthew and Damaris Lambrecht have been friends since childhood. In 2005 they married and later in 2008 moved to the foothill community of Coarsegold. Together they have one daughter which attends a local mountain school.
As business owners, they spend most of their time working. However when they can squeeze in some free time they enjoy being outdoors. Whether it be boating, swimming, hiking, snowboarding/skiing, off-roading, or simply working towards that hard to find hammock-lifestyle; The outdoors is definitely where they will be. Damaris is an avid reader and has filled the farmhouse with many of her favorite books.
If you are ever in a bind, rest assured they live nearby and will be happy to help ensure you enjoy your stay!

Why they chose this property

In 2007 Matthew and Damaris started a clean-up company for foreclosures. This was one of the homes they were hired to clean, and immediately saw its potential. They loved the location and its proximity to Fresno, lakes, casinos, parks. The fact it was next to the 22 mile house gas station and winery made it even more ideal!
Up until recently the home was occupied by family. In the Spring of 2016 the house became vacant when the occupying family moved to Fresno. Over the summer, Damaris worked on the home to get it ready for a vacation rental. Most of the furniture was built by Damaris out of reclaimed wood/materials around the property.
There are still a lot of features they would like to add. In the winter/spring they will be adding large shade trees in the field west of the home to create a shaded area where they can have a fire pit/sitting area. Other to-do's include: Central air/HVAC system, Car port installation, dutch door installation to lead into the kitchen, and fence off the backyard area from the shop area.

What makes this property unique

Acreage west of the home allows for some of the most beautiful sunsets in the area. While working on the home in the summer of 2016, Matthew and Damaris spent many evenings dinning on the porch, or simply enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sunset.
The home is located Caddy corner to a winery which offers wine tasting 7 days a week, and within walking distance to a mini-mart and gas station. Convenient access to Highway 41, makes for a faster commute to parks, and attractions. Because it is located at the base of the foothills you can choose between various National Parks: Sequoia or Yosemite National Park as well as China Peak Ski Resort, Madera Wine trail and numerous lakes!
