About this property

A home from home but with added sunshine! Sleeps up to eight

The villa is situated in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of the old mountain village of Lapta. Built on a ravine, the villa stands in an elevated position with views of the sea and the mountains. The gardens contain established shrubs and trees, a fledgling orchard with trees now bearing oranges, lemons, mandarins and grapefruit. The overflow pool measures 8m x 4m with inbuilt steps leading to the shallow end, and side mounted steps down to the deeper end. There is an outside shower located by the pool and a barbeque. There is also a large gazebo in the garden. Four bedrooms ( the ground floor one has a safe) are all air conditioned, each with it's own shower room & toilet. There is also a separate toilet downstairs. The living room, dining room & kitchen all open out to a large patio area leading to the pool and gardens. The gated drive can accomodate 2 cars. Beaches, restaurants and bars are within a short distance. Picturesque Kyrenia Harbour is approximately 15 mins drive.
You will find an information folder inside the villa providing a wealth of local information and maps that you can take out with you to help you readily find your way back to the villa - Or show one to the restaurants and takeaways, to make delivery easier. There's an abundance of well stocked supermarkets selling local produce as well as more familiar groceries, plenty of bakeries and pharmacies. The language is Turkish but English is widely spoken & understood. The currency is Turkish Lira and Euros & GB£'s are also accepted in restaurants, bars and shops with a fair rate of exchange - any change is usually given in Turkish Lira. There are plenty of banks and ATMs. You tend to get a better rate for your money at the local exchange venues. The nearest to the villa is a short drive along the main strip opposite Greens garage (which is on the left hand side of the road) as you're driving towards Kyrenia. There are plenty of beaches locally including our favourite - Escape Beach which has everything you could possibly need. There's a small fee but it's worth it. Top tip, it gets very busy at weekends! In addition, all of the hotels and holiday clubs have facilities that are open to the public for a daily fee which usually includes lunch.

There are some lovely , pretty villages around which should be visited if you can manage to tear yourself away from the pool. Lapta itself & Alsancak locally are traditional old villages and have good restaurants. Higher up the mountain, Karaman is gorgeous and has a couple of bars and restaurants. Kyrenia (Girne) has its pretty horseshoe shaped harbour, recently refurbished has reopened and is a great place just to sit and people watch or is a good starting point to wander the narrow streets. Boat trips are available from the harbour. There's an old abbey in Bellapais well worth a visit - Bellapais is an old village with the 'Tree of Idleness' written of by the famous author Lawrence Durrell in 'Bitter Lemons'. A journey to the top of St Hilarion Castle should not be missed - though not during very hot sunshine. There is so much to see and do!!
Flights can be into Ercan in the North (Turkish side) with a touchdown in Turkey, or into Larnaca in the South(ROC) and we can help arrange transfers from either airport and can also assist with car hire. Ercan is approx 40mins away; Larnaca about 75mins. Be aware that you must enter and leave from the North or the South for example, you can't arrive in the North and then leave from the South and vice versa. There's no visa requirement for UK citizens for entry into Cyprus, North or South. If you're travelling from the South to the North you no longer require a visa, but you do have to produce your passport at the border. Whichever way you choose to fly, there are no difficulties but we can help with transfers to make it easier for you.

Excellant Villa
The stay at the villa was every we expected. The pool was fantastic and it was certainly needed in the high temperatures. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone visiting North Cyprus it has everything you need for a family holiday.

in need of updating and better maintenance
You need to make sure when arriving & leaving you take a picture of the electric meter reading. i didn't and was charged a further £86 a week after leaving which i am disputing as it seems no one else takes a picture of the readings either so not sure how they tell when you have over used maybe just away of making a few more quid ?villa its self looks lovely. BUT it needs money spending on it, plaster on inside walls coming away in places, furniture is tired , tv no English channels wouldn't' cost much for TV box & VPN .showers are tiny and leaking, pool area is i think dangerous their are plastic bits around the side for the overflow which are damaged in quite a number of places and maintenance people obviously no about this as its just gets bodged up with small pieces here and there, if stood on would break so be careful with kids or adults running around the pool, maintenance people also use the land at the back of the garden as a rubbish tip -local area- there is a big local rubbish dump at the top of the road which spills out onto the road to the villa - the bloke across the road feeds all the wild dogs in the area, most days and nights their were about 10 dogs running around outside so make sure gate is closed or they get into the garden, and they bark non stop all night the bloke at the back of the house seems to be the local cat rescue guy so you have it on both sides- there aren't that many local beaches really and what their are arent very clean and they charge

Lovely stay
The property suited us as a group of 8 adults. It was lovely and the pool was perfect for us. We had issues with ants which were addressed as soon as I messaged the manager. The taxi struggled to find the property, so worth getting a copy of the location map prior to arrival. Thank you Gary and Heather

We have looked forward to this holiday for 3 tears, carried booking over from covid.our 1 st impression on arrival when we saw pool and garden area was a good one, then you go into the house.it was.not very clean,we had to get in touch with Agent for cleaning products including mop and bucket,no anti vac cleaner was provided,we had to buy our own, also black bags for rubbish and decent dish washer tabs.there were no batteries in remote control for tv,agent bought some but could not get tv to work said he would contact owner,i did too but no joy,no tv for whole 2 weeks, also water cooler.stopped working, but after messaging owner we did get new one.The sheets and towels ,personally i would not give to local dogs home.then there were the ants in the kitchen,we kept everything in fridge how we were instructed to,a bigger fridge is needed rather than 2 small ones.but the ants even managed to get in tubes of pringles that were left out thinking cardboard would be safe.the ants were even in the dishwasher.Even though the pool area was lovely there were 2 broken sunbeds, which caused one of us bad back pains after falling through slats, when we arrived there was only 1.umbrella for 5 people,we did manage to get 1 more from agent, not good enough in temperatures of 35 degrees. We did enjoy our holiday in spite of everything but would not recommend this Villa in its present state

Lovely villa for a large group. Beautiful pool .
Some updating needs to be done. As always in Cyprus, water pressure in showers is not great. Had to have two shower heads replaced when we arrived as not working. Maybe this should have been picked up by cleaners when getting the villa ready. Very dusty under beds which I think should be mentioned to them. Great shame there is not a decent fridge/freezer. Their is room for a decent one. Problem with neighbours dogs barking at night especially. Minor things but overall had a lovely stay

We are from Liverpool and this will be evident from some of the pictures in the villa. When at our holiday home, we enjoy walks around the local villages, in the countryside and also along the coastal path which starts at the small boatyard at Lapta harbour.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with North Cyprus when we first came on holiday here about 20 years ago. We visited for 3 years to get a feel of the place before taking the plunge and having our villa built. We come as much as we can, have noticed many changes over the years and never tire of the place.

What makes this property unique

We have recently had extensive renovations to the villa which went into a bit of a decline during the pandemic when. This year (2024) we have changed the whole of the downstairs floor as ants had settled themselves underneath, and it was reported to us that they were coming up through worn away grouting, so we dug up the floor and replaced the tiling. We have also changed the kitchen so it is more modern and much lighter and we have installed new shower units in all the bedrooms and painted the doors to all the rooms to a lighter cream giving the whole villa a more modern look and feel. We've added two Brabantia wall mounted washing lines on a redundant patio which means that there is no line spoiling the views of the mountains! Finally, we have created a new patio area with its own furniture beyond the gazebo that provides fantastic views down the mountain to the sea.
