You can’t judge a book by its cover
My wife and I have had the pleasure of staying at many short-term rental homes. Some booked directly with the owner and others using booking sites. We take full advantage of the homes we rent both inside and out. Using all the amenities provided such as the Cook-top, Oven, Fridge, Dishwasher, BBQ, outdoor furniture, etc. We derive great pleasure living like the locals. When we came across Bungalow on the Vine for rent, we were attracted to it based on the pictures we saw online. We stayed in Paso Robles four years ago in another short-term rental owner operated and had a great time. So, we booked this home almost a year in advance to ensure we would get the dates we wanted. Bungalow on Vine presented very nicely inside. However, after being there for a few hours we quickly learned that you can’t judge a book by its cover. It became quite apparent that a lot of maintenance routines were not being completed or audited at this home on a regular basis. It didn’t take much effort to come up with a list of fifteen plus issues. Just as a few examples; many of the Kitchen lights were burnt out (hard to cook in the dark), the master bathroom toilet didn’t work properly, the foliage had over grown around the BBQ, the outside was not very clean especially the furniture which was covered in cobwebs and dishes had to be washed before using them, etc. This was disappointing because we did not experience these kinds of issues with the other short-term rentals we stayed at. The next morning, taking time out of our wine touring plans, we called to have these issues addressed. After a conversation back and forth we agree to a list based on priority. We were promised that the issues would be fixed before we returned in the afternoon and we would be called backed to confirm when completed. We were never called back. We returned later in the afternoon to find most of the items had been fix except one. This required another call which resulted in a second visit by the maintenance team member. No explanation or apology was given for this missed item. Disappointingly three days later the toilet again had issues. While we would agree with many of the reviews about this house such as the great location along with presenting well, having to deal with many maintenance issues put a damper on our stay. We felt a lack of pride of ownership was apparent with this home.

Bungalow on Vine
The house met our needs. There were four of us, two couples. The kitchen was very well stocked. We appreciated the coffee. The big dining room table was great for eating in as well as playing cards. No bathroom door is very strange. The hardwood floor mean that sound carries. We were disappointed upon arrival to learn that the washer was not working and would not be replaced during our stay. We would have packed more clothes had we known this ahead of time.

Cozy bungalow close to restaurants and shopping
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location was great. You could walk to anything in the downtown Paso Robles area. The kitchen is large and equipped with everything you need. The bungalow had great space for 4 people. Keep in mind one of the en suite bedrooms faces Vine which has a fair amount of traffic, but it didn’t seem to bother our guests. Also, the larger en suite bedroom has no door to bathroom or toilet room, which may uncomfortable for some people, so good to know before you book.Overall it was a great home base for our two weeks in PR. We would definitely stay there again if in the area.

Perfect home for two couples
Great place for two couples to stay for a long weekend. Perfect downtown location: close to everything very quiet. Everything we needed and more. House is in great shape. Easy access to wineries plus local restaurants. See also spent a great day exploring Hearst Castle and watching elephant seals. Highly recommend!
