Only a short drive to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, professional baseball at the home of the Traverse City Pit Spitters and many other attractions. Chairs are available by the lake to relax or to watch the kids swim in the sandy, shallow, shared swimming area. A large dock with benches is a nice place to enjoy your morning coffee and watch the lake wake up as the sun rises over the trees on the opposite shore. If you love to fish, the lake has bass, bluegill, sunfish, crappie, perch, northern pike, and a few cagey old muskie. Fall colors in the foliage are vivid in early to mid-October. The Grand Traverse area is popular for hunting, snow-mobiles and cross-country as well as down-hill skiing during the Fall and Winter months.
