About this property

Classic Lakefront Home on Spider Lake, Sleeps 6

Lake house on a beautiful all-sports lake. Spider Lake is a 450 acre, 38' deep, spring-fed lake in Grand Traverse County. House sleeps 6; two bedrooms and pull out sofa. Only a short drive to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, professional baseball at the home of the Traverse City Pit Spitters and many other attractions. Chairs are available by the lake to relax or to watch the kids swim in the sandy, shallow, shared swimming area. A large dock with benches is a nice place to enjoy your morning coffee and watch the lake wake up as the sun rises over the trees on the opposite shore. If you love to fish, the lake has bass, bluegill, sunfish, crappie, perch, northern pike, and a few cagey old muskie. Fall colors in the foliage are vivid in early to mid-October. The Grand Traverse area is popular for hunting, snow-mobiles and cross-country as well as down-hill skiing during the Fall and Winter months.
The house is one level with approximately 25 steps leading down to the lake. A wood deck is accessed from the living room for a spectacular view high above the lake.

Michigan vacation
We enjoyed the property very much. Great beach area. Unfortunately it wasn't super warm a good part of the week but we still managed to get in the water a couple times. Fishing was slow at times but we caught some big bass from the dock and many bluegill. Loved the kayaks and the gazebo. There's a rolling, patio fireplace on the beach and we decided to take advantage on our last full day there, which was nice and relaxing, but the entitled guy two houses down doesn't like it burning when he's "entertaining" guests.

Cute little cottage
Previous reviews mentioned this cottage felt like staying at Grandma’s and that’s exactly how it felt in the best ways :) It was very clean and you can tell the house has been well taken care of. My kids loved the kayaks and docks to fish off of too. And the neighbors were very friendly. Overall, a great stay!

summer camp at Spider Lake
Roger and Patty's cottage was perfect for a family holiday! Simple and quiet - very nice neighbors on both sides and location that was ideal to unplug and enjoy "summer camp" at the lake. Swimming/raft, kayaking/canoeing, board games/cards - even a stereo with turntable and 8-track player (and record collection)! The only tricky part is that there is no washer/dryer, so I would definitely recommend taking advantage of their linen package (we did and it worked out well)! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
