About this property

GLACIER PARK AND SF FLATHEAD RIVER NEARBY!! W GLACIER 12 MILES, RIVER 200 YARDS

A 15 minute/mile drive on a mostly four lane highway and you are at the West Entrance to Glacier National Park to enjoy your adventure in paradise. Get a good night’s rest in your large bedroom with a king size bed on a Montana made log frame. The home is located on the edge of town across the road from a wooded area and down the hill is the South Fork of the Flathead River that flows from the great Rocky Mountains out to the Pacific Ocean.
Enjoy 1000 square feet of living area in your new home, Burnt Stump Lodge, located in Hungry Horse, a small town of about 900 people that was created when Hungry Horse Dam was built in 1949. The neighborhood the home is in, is one of the first areas developed during dam construction when the town formed and is still inhabited by working class folks, SOME THAT DO LIVE IN OLDER SHABBY TRAILERS, IF THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR YOU, PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE. (I suggest to do your Google Street View).
The neighborhood is friendly and quiet. Drink your morning coffee on your balcony and breathe in the ionized air from the river below. Your view is of beautiful Columbia Mountain, the forest, and just a 2-minute walk away is the river where you can throw in a fishing line and catch some dinner! If you choose you can drive to the river access, too.
There is great cell service and internet. I also have a printer/fax/scanner that can be made available, as well as a portable Air Conditioner (house is very well insulated and with all the ceiling fans as well as a box fan. keeping cool has never been an issue in the past) A washer and dryer are provided. In the evenings, kick back and watch a movie on a huge 80-inch flat screen TV, with HBO, Netflix. Hulu. Disney. and Starz via the Prime network, also several movies in the archive on Prime, so plenty of options.

Glacier International Airport (FCA) is only 12 miles from the home. There is a grocery store in Hungry Horse where you can buy your groceries; larger stores 7 miles away in Columbia Falls; Costco and Wall Mart are 20 miles away in Kalispell. There are many restaurants in town and on the way to the park or prepare your own delicious meals at your peaceful retreat in your kitchen with all new appliances.

HOUSEKEEPING
When you arrive, the home will be clean and set up with bed linens and bath towels. Garbage bags, coffee filters, bacterial hand soap, dish/dishwasher are provided. Guests are to provide any paper products such as paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, and personal care items such as body soap, shampoo, lotions, etc. Kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, pans, utensils, salt and pepper. Bring your favorite spices.

Hungry Horse Pleasure
The house was very clean. It was just as Dee described it. No issues at all. It is not a bad drive to the park. I would stay again at this location.

I am a Hungry Horse, Montana native. My family owned and operated the Hungry Horse Motel for 25 years so I had tourism hospitality in my blood at birth!

Why they chose this property

I owned this property for 20 years and want to share the great proximity to Glacier National Park and the great river waters that come from our wilderness streams to just minutes away from your front door.

What makes this property unique

Save loads of money, due to location ,this property rents for the same amount or less as some that are half its size and far less luxuriously furnished.
the river can not be seen from inside the property, but is easily accessed by walking 200 yards south across a public park.
the house itself is 250 square feet larger than a nearby TWO bedroom unit, and as far as aesthetics, not even in the same class.
