About Vacasa of the High Sierras

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Excelente lugar!

 • 5 of 5

Very cozy !

 • 5 of 5

We loved it !! The driveway leading up to the home was flat which was great compared to some of the other properties there. Makes for easy unloading and loading the car. We very much loved the warmth and coziness of the property. The home was very clean when we arrived, we very much appreciated that. We would definitely come back.

Great home, about an hour from Yosemite

 • 5 of 5

We chose this home for its proximity to Yosemite, and we were not disappointed. It took about an hour to get to the Big Flat Oak entrance, and about an hour and a half to get to Yosemite Village. The house is clean, well appointed, and comfortable. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a downstairs area with a foosball table, TV, bed, and futon that would be great for additional guests, though we mostly stayed upstairs. We particularly appreciated the little things for our kids: Boxes of blocks and Legos in the second bedroom, board games beneath the television. My kids (ages 2 and 3) loved it, and honestly we could have stayed there the entire vacation and never made it into Yosemite, and they would have been just as happy!

The lake community is gated and sprawling, so it's a good thing they give you a map when you check in. We didn't get a chance to check out the pool, but we will next time, for sure. We did go to one of the beach marinas, and it was quiet and lovely, with swans and a little playground.

Groveland itself is a tiny one-street kind of town, hardly more than two pizza parlors, a market, and a saloon (and, depending on the day and hour, many of the other little shops may not be open). But as long as you know what to expect, it's a quaint little town with friendly people. Plan to buy groceries at the market and eat in, and enjoy the nice deck.

Our only complaint is that the tennis courts, which say "shared" in the description, are actually fee-based, and it'll cost you $7 per person to play--and you'll have to purchase the tennis pass in advance of going to the courts; we are a big tennis family, and weren't expecting this, so our boys were disappointed. But if you're not planning on playing tennis, this home--and the community--are awesome.

Bottom line: We loved the house and the community, and we hope to stay there again in the future.
