About this property

Spacious Family Place, Fun Game Room, Great Fishing & Sunsets, Winery Nearby

Enjoy our large game room year-round (with AC or heat) when you can't be on the lake! Lightly developed this 684-acre lake has all kinds of options for fun and is known for great fishing (year-round!), especially walleyes, with low traffic. We offer a paddle boat, canoe, kayaks, and a float mat. Our shoreline has a sandy-rocky bottom with minimal weeds, and a low-slope out. Depending on spring rain, water depths will vary but often it's shallow enough for wading and swimming with little ones.

Enjoy sunsets from the deck or firepit area, or relax with your morning coffee. Our tree-lined lot has shade and sun with beautiful sunset views over the lake. Within walking distance are scenic woodlands and marshes of State Wildlife Mgmt lands.

Our main level welcomes plenty of natural light into the open-concept great room, with a spacious kitchen and dining area, and living room with a large patio door to the deck. Do your grilling a few steps out the back door (we have a charcoal and gas grill, propane provided) and the campfire area is just steps from there. The main level has two bedrooms and a full bath, and a few steps from the living room you can access the game room which can be used year-round. We have a full size ping pong and air hockey table, a full size fridge and tables for games, etc. Plus you will find lawn games, sand toys, and swim noodles/floaties. It is temperature controlled with AC in the summer and heat in winter, making it a great place for your pets, too.

The basement has two bedrooms and a full size bathroom, along with a great room that welcomes kids, teens an adults alike with two futon couches and three gaming chairs. There are TVs and DVD players on both levels, as well as a collection of movies (basement TV is a chromecast). There are books, cards, boardgames, puzzles and some toys on both levels.

The Public Access is on the north end of the lake (about 1/4 mile from us) and has a concrete ramp, parking area and a sandy beach-like area.

** There is a dock at the home but currently no boat lift. Please bring an anchor for any watercraft you bring to anchor near shore overnight.

Great Space for a Large Group
This house was perfect for our group of 9 ranging from 11 to 67 years old. We traveled to Minnesota from Colorado for a family funeral, and having ample room for all of us to stay together made those two days a little easier. Check-in was super easy and Rachel graciously let us check in early. The house had plenty of space for our group to spread out, eat meals, play games, etc. The 4 queen bedrooms and bunk area with double/twin bunks provided enough beds for everyone to sleep comfortably, though the two basement queen rooms were quite cold according to the two who slept in them. One slightly awkward moment was when Rachel asked how many beds needed to be made up. Since it sleeps 17, I totally understand only making the beds that will actually be used. However, not knowing exactly how we'd all configure for sleeping, it was hard to specify how many singles/shared beds, etc. Maybe numbering or lettering the beds in the photos would help future guests easily communicate their needed bed setup. Overall, the spacious house with a fun game room was exactly what our family group needed. The amenities were as advertised. I'd recommend this property to any large family or group looking for a comfortable place to stay together! Thank you, Rachel!

Family gathering
My son and family flew in from North Carolina to spend a "Christmas" weekend with myself, his brother and sister and their families. We haven't seen him for about 6 years so this was a great time by all. The home accommodated all of us for 2 night stay. The game room in the garage was awesome for the kiddos and adults. My whole family was impressed with the roominess and the sleeping area. We even had a visit from my son's 1st cousin that they hadn't seen each other for over 10+ years. The ice fishing was good also - caught 2 walleye but one got away. It was the 1st time my grandson ice fished. Also the owners left the holiday decor up to feel like Christmas - They also responded quickly if we had any questions, Thank you Rachel and Reed for the use of your home --

Christmas Fun for the Family!
The owners are good at communicating and very helpful. They assisted in getting a local Santa for our Christmas celebration for the grandkids, which was an AMAZING experience for the kids!!! The game room was great fun for all ages!! Biggest water heater I've ever seen. It rained, and in late December, that was odd, but we still had fun on the ice and campfire & s'mores. towels were a bit thin and be sure to bring our own plates/soup bowls. We would definitely stay here again... nice place and location.

Family Christmas
We found the house to be very clean. Communication with the owner was easy. We didn’t use anything outside. The game room was a bonus for the kids, they really enjoyed. Would stay again.

Girls weekend
It was a great place to stay for a girls weekend. Plenty of space with plenty of beds. The extra garage space with the games was used a lot.

Having grown up in small towns, we have always enjoyed being in the outdoors year-round. Our home offers you great opportunities to do the same! Completely renovated in 2004 it has a brand new basement and exterior, plus all new *everything* inside. Our main level boasts teak wood and Travertine floors and a beautiful view of the lake with memorable sunsets.

Reed went to college for firefighting, while I attended college in Iowa for communications. Though we grew up in the same town, our paths didn't cross until we were both well out of school. I currently manage our property and will be your main contact. We love peaceful lake settings and relaxing in the outdoors, which motivates us to help you do the same!

Why they chose this property

Surrounded by trees the home offers privacy and solitude without feeling closed in. The open view from the front door draws your eyes to the gorgeous vista of the lake below, where you can get in some swimming or fishing as the lake plenty of room to relax on a pontoon or set out your ice house! The neighborhood has a lovely drive with lots of trees for quiet walks or bike rides. As our property does have elevation, there is a small landing on the lake stairs where you can sit and watch for all kinds of wildlife.

In this "heart of the lakes" region, where neighbors are like friends, it's easy to feel like you're in the country yet still have a wide range of things to do and see. Several small towns offer unique sights, eateries and shops, including a popular winery, art galleries & museums. Or you can get to larger towns within 30-40 minutes with Minneapolis and its western suburbs being just about an hour away.

What makes this property unique

The view is gorgeous and the home is beautiful with a main level arched hallway, spacious kitchen, and an 8-ft patio door framed by large windows for enhanced lake views and natural light. There is also ample space to spread out, with 4 bedrooms one can sneak away to for a nap. We love the cozy campfire area in the backyard, and that even when a rainy day occurs groups can gather in the garage for a ping pong tournament, air hockey match, or games and meals at the banquet tables.
