About this property

Creekside Cabin ~ Private, Peaceful, and Convenient to Glacier ~ Wonderful Deck!

Many of our previous guests have been looking for our listing to book return visits. We recently turned over the management of our cabin to Christie Dunn, an excellent and experienced premier host. Look for our new listing at Vrbo #3678978, Tranquil Creekside Cabin, for our active booking calendar and our 170, 5-star reviews.
Thank you,
Kim & Drew

We recently designed and built Lake-Creek Cabin with our guests comfort and pleasure in mind. The cabin sits nestled into a hillside among cedar, birch, and larch tree tops - perched above a cascading creek. Lake-Creek Cabin offers a feeling of being away from it all with its private setting (in a rural neighborhood) and yet is convenient to Glacier National Park (West Glacier & North Fork), the airport, restaurants and groceries in Columbia Falls; and to Whitefish, known for its recreational activities, shopping, dining, and nightlife.

The cabin features a single-level, light and airy 1200 sq. ft. open floor plan and sleeps up to four adults or children (age 13 or older). A large deck with gas grill, dining and sitting areas, cantilevers out to capture views of the forest and creek below – a peaceful setting and the perfect place to enjoy time together and deeply relax. Not the perfect weather to be outside? Enjoy outdoor living nonetheless in the cozy screened porch.

Lake-Creek Cabin is thoughtfully and generously provisioned, including a complete kitchen with new fully-featured appliances, cookware, utensils, and place settings. A pantry of herbs, spices, condiments and food storage supplies are provided for our guests convenience.

A high ceiling and windowed wall in the great room bring the outdoors in as a backdrop for enjoying time indoors with comfortable living and dining seating for all. Additional features include a cozy gas fireplace, 48” smart TV with Roku streaming stick, DVD player, stereo/CD player with Bluetooth connectivity, Wi-Fi (up to 40 mbps), and board games.

Getting a good night's sleep is a key ingredient for the best vacation days, so we have endeavored to create a most comfortable sleep experience for our guests. With comfortable mattresses, quality sheets, down and synthetic pillows and layered bedding you can get it just right. Open the windows for tranquil sounds of the creek below and cool mountain night air and you have the recipe for a perfect night's sleep.

The master bedroom suite features a king bed with creek and tree top views and a private full bath (tub/shower). The second bedroom features two twin beds and private wooded views and adjacent bath with roomy shower. Ceiling fans are located in both bedrooms and in the great room for our guests comfort.

For the perfect start to the day, pour a cup of coffee, snuggle in on the screened porch or deck and enjoy a chorus of birdsong. Browse through the resource file to check out the information on Glacier Park, area services, and attractions. Consult the trail guide, other guidebooks and maps to plan the day’s outing. Packing a picnic lunch is a cinch with a cooler, reusable ice packs, and picnic dishes available. We provide 3 canisters of bear spray for guest use. Take care of laundry in the full size washer and dryer with laundry supplies provided.

A 15 minute scenic shortcut drive brings you to the West Glacier entrance of Glacier National Park. Or head north and follow the North Fork (gravel road) of the Flathead River to Polebridge (an off-the-grid community) and the northwest access to Glacier National Park.

Easy to find, this is a great home base for hiking, biking, rafting, fishing, paddling, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and alpine skiing, just for starters. The Flathead Valley offers a wealth of theater, music and special community events all year long.

Make coming home something to look forward to after an incredible day of exploring and recreating in Glacier National Park and the Flathead Valley. We have designed and built this secluded feeling, yet convenient hideaway for our guests to relax and enjoy their time together amidst the beauty of nature.

We welcome you to Lake-Creek Cabin for your dream vacation.

Your hosts,
Kim & Drew

(Going to the Sun Road access to Logan Pass typically closes approximately the 3rd weekend of October, weather permitting).

****We highly recommend guests purchase travel insurance to protect themselves from unforeseen events that may cause them to cancel their plans. Forest fires are a weather related part of living in the west - we do not cancel/refund due to forest fire smoke. We do not reschedule in the event guests cancel within the 'no refund' window.

One of Our Two Most Awesome Rentals
We have rented many properties using VRBO. When visiting Glacier National Park, Lake-Creek Cabin looked ideal for our needs. Kim and Drew were incredibly helpful, both by the material they sent and via phone before our visit, in helping us prepare. It was obvious that they wanted to ensure our experience was exceptional. The cabin was very convenient to both Columbia Falls and to the western entrance to Glacier National Park. It is surrounded by forest and a rushing creek along one side where a deck and chairs allowed us to enjoy the peaceful sounds it made. Inside the cabin was very attractive, nicely laid out, and extraordinarily comfortable. But what we found most impressive and appreciated was how anything we could conceivably need was provided - extra paper towels and toilet paper, many washclothes and towels, coffee, sugar, just about every spice there is, splatter shields for cooking bacon, extra pillows and blankets, even bug repellant and three cans of bear repellant (which we carried with us on our hikes but never needed). Any guest should only shop for perishables on their way to the cabin. Restaurant suggestions were based on the owners’ personal experiences and were very helpful in helping us choose where to have dinner. There is a booster for Verizon cell phones. Since we have a different carrier, we worried about getting a signal but found that standing in the driveway gave us an adequate strength signal when it was weak inside. My wife and I cannot overstate how wonderful staying in Lake-Creek Cabin was. Every potential need had been anticipated and the beautiful setting and comfort of the cabin enhanced our visit to the magic of Glacier. If we ever return northwest Montana, we would want to stay in this cabin. It so outshines many of other rentals we’ve had all over the country and speaks to the thoughtfulness of its owners. Kim and Drew, thank you for making our visit wonderful and relaxing. If we could give you TEN stars, even that would not be enough.

We have been blessed with 44 years of exploring and recreating in the mountains, lakes, and rivers of Northwest Montana. We are delighted to have the opportunity to create this vacation home from which to share this wonderful part of the world with our guests.

Why they chose this property

With a desire to create this vacation stay, we searched and searched and eventually found this wonderful property bordering a cascading creek (roaring in the spring to gently ambling in late summer). In our imaginations, we envisioned a beautiful retreat that would accentuate our guests’ experience of visiting Glacier National Park and the Flathead Valley. We spent a full year designing, building and decorating to make this vision come true (completed in 2016). Our friends who see it say they want to live there! Come enjoy this delightful place.

What makes this property unique

Lake Creek Cabin offers a tastefully decorated, roomy interior for 4 guests to enjoy time together or to wander off and have some time alone. The house features a bathroom for each of the two bedrooms for enhanced privacy. Living space is generous and comfortable with full amenities throughout. The icing on the cake is the outdoor living space – a screened porch in addition to the large deck overlooking the cascading creek. Summer in NW Montana is heaven and we want our guests to enjoy outdoor living rain or shine - or mosquitos! We designed and built this cabin with our guest’s enjoyment as our goal.
