Come enjoy our glorious single-floor, three bedroom, landscaped, beautifully maintained and fully furnished Adirondack home that is both secluded and in the High Peaks area -- approximately 2 miles above the town of Keene. "Heaven Too" is perfect both for all seasons and includes two fireplaces, a large and open living room, a modern kitchen and wrap around decks from which to see one of the most beautiful views in the area. Located in the small, but amenities-rich town of Keene and a short drive to Keene Valley, you can access both the necessary creature comforts and the idyllic seclusion of a house in the woods.
Only 15 miles from Lake Placid and Whiteface mountain (Olympic attractions) and 20-25 miles from Lake Champlain (with 20-minute ferry between Essex, NY and Charlotte, VT ). Breathtaking, lofty panoramic view of the Great Range and more, including Mt. Marcy (many say the best such view in the Adirondacks). During May-October, one may enjoy the scenery and the sounds of wildlife, hike many nearby and High Peaks trails, rock climb, fish and swim in the Ausable River, canoe and kayak in nearby ponds, lakes and streams, play golf or tennis . . . even checkers! Leaf-peeping usually best from late-September to mid-October. Ideal for novelists, poets, scholars . . . or just plain old (and young) nature lovers.
There are wrap around decks. House sleeps 6 max. There is one large main bedroom (queen bed), one large study with a double bed and mountain views, one smaller bedroom with twin bunkbeds and a very comfortable air mattress that can be used in any of the rooms.
There is a fully equipped, modern kitchen, two full bathrooms (one with a1/2 tub/shower and one with a shower), laundry facilities, two large stone fireplaces and mountain views from nearly every room.
Also available: Internet access (via free Wi-Fi high speed), stereo system. Additionally, parking in parking lot. Fully winterized.
There are two other buildings on this property. One available May to October. The other is a long term rental.
Heavily wooded property, hence little space for major organized sports. For these and most other serious outdoor activities--boating, fishing, golfing, hiking, hunting (no guns allowed), rock-climbing, swimming, tennis, etc.--we go mostly off property in and around the valley, the Ausable River (fantastic swimming holes!), and nearby mountains and lakes.
Available year round. In the winter good tires are a must. All wheel drive or 4 wheel drive would be beneficial.
Easy access: 2-2.5 hours drive from Albany (NY), Burlington (VT), and Montreal airports.
