About this property

BUTTERCUP COTTAGE in beautiful Devon countryside.

Property Description
----------------------------
Buttercup Cottage is a 2 bedroom barn conversion. It is extremely well insulated keeping it cool in summer and warm in winter. The cottage faces south-west and so is in the sun for most of the day.

The ground floor provides a light and airy open-plan living area with a fitted kitchen, dining table and a lounge area with cosy wood burner. Full height windows extend the living space, opening out onto a south-facing patio and graveled courtyard that provide the perfect suntrap from which to enjoy a morning cup of tea or al-fresco dining. The modern bathroom includes a shower over the bath and under floor heating

Upstairs there are two comfortable bedrooms with exposed beams and stripped wood floors, reflecting the character of the original building. The master bedroom is equipped with a comfortable double (4ft 6in) pine bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe with space for a travel cot or standard cot which can be supplied on request.

The second bedroom is equipped with a full size single (3ft 6in) pine bed, a small double (4ft) pine bed and chest of drawers.

The entire area is rich with excellent country pubs, restaurants and coffee shops. We will be pleased to provide you with our recommendations.

The Roman city of Exeter with its beautiful cathedral and green, and Taunton, the county town of Somerset, are both approximately 18 miles distant. For shoppers, either of these offers a full range of High Street chain stores and individual shops.

Clean, quiet and very rural
The cottage was mostly very well equipped, clean and tidy, in the midst of steeply rolling countryside, reached by narrow rutted lanes. We enjoyed visiting nearby towns and the tram ride to Seaton. We found driving down the lanes to and from the cottage quite challenging.

Our stay at buttercup cottage
We had a lovely time on our 5 day stay, this is a basic, small property but with everything you could need! Clean, tidy and well equipped, the children loved having puzzles to do and the outside play equipment to explore (although this is round the back of the property, not in sight from the cottage so we did need to go round with them.) The owners are lovely and location is great for exploring the south devon activities. We enjoyed the Seaton Tramway, Lyme Regis beach and the Somerset museum. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice base to call home for a few days!

Absolutely amazing!
I cannot say enough good things about our stay at Buttercup Cottage. The cottage itself is beautiful and very cosy. It has been very thoughtfully put together and there are some lovely inclusions which make it a perfect home away from home. Our son thoroughly enjoyed the garden and play items available for use. The property is in a great location for visiting the surrounding area and the hosts are wonderful. We will definitely be booking to stay here again and urge anyone considering booking to do so - you won't regret it!

Brilliant stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was a great base to travel to Dorset and Devon. It was a tranquil location and our kids loved the garden and swing etc. Our kids (16 months old and 5 years) never slept so amazingly! Highly recommend.
