"Make It So" is a cozy 2 Story Upside-Down Saltbox that sits up on a hill in Tom Nevers East with stunning views, peaceful yard and shade trees.
Truly, Away From It All. Peaceful and quiet.
Perfect for Families of all ages, Writers, Artists, and anyone looking for solitude. Peaceful yet just minutes away from most everything! Grill on the spacious deck and watch the moon come up over the ocean. "Make It So" has Central Air Conditioning and a Rinnai Tankless Water Heater for endless hot water. Enjoy a hot outdoor shower under the Milky Way.

"Make It So" is only 5 miles from Town and incredible Restaurants, Dreamland Movie Theater, Shopping, Museums. We are located close to the Bike Path that will take you everywhere you want to go. Having a Car is suggested.

There are 2 levels. You enter on the 1st level into a warm and cozy living room. There is a queen sleeper sofa, recliner and high top table for games, puzzles or snacks. Lots of current paperbacks! There is a Roku Flatscreen TV. There are 3 bedrooms on this level.
The Master Bedroom has a queen size bed, 2 Bureaus, Closet and shower bathroom. There are sliders leading to a small deck.

Second bedroom has a double bed with built in drawers and spacious closet.

The third bedroom has 2 twin beds, bureau and closet. These 2 guest bedrooms share a hall bathroom with shower/tub combo.
There is a stacked Maytag washer and dryer also on 1st floor.

Climb the beautiful stairs to the incredible open concept, cathedral ceilinged space which consists of a beautiful sitting area including recliners and loveseat. There is a gorgeous gas fireplace (available for stays in cooler months)with a Google Smart Flat TV.

The dining area seats 6 comfortably.
The kitchen is a FOODIES dream, outfitted with brand new top of the line appliances including a Danby beverage/wine refrigerator. Tons of storage. There is a 36 inch electric cooktop with downdraft exhaust in the large Quartz top center island. This island seats 4 very comfortably.

Kitchen is fully outfitted with everything you need to make your stay perfect, including; basic pantry items, an electric kettle, blender, hand mixer, Coffee maker, food processor. There's even a Lobster Pot! Please help yourself to the fresh herbs and spices, teabags etc.
There is a 1/2 bath on this level.

The views from this level with take your breath away. From the large kitchen window with crank out windows you can see Sankaty Lighthouse, Alter Rock, Tom Nevers Pond, The Moors and Low Beach in Sconset. There are sliders leading to the ocean view deck. Just WOW!

There is comfortable outdoor seating and a Teak dining table.
There is a Gas Grill.

There is an easy approx 8-10 minute walk to the public stairs leading to usually very peaceful Tom Nevers Beach.

Perfect experience
I have been going to Nantucket since I was a kid, and have stayed all over the island. I’ve never stayed in this location but it was the perfect spot for a getaway with my 3 kids. I wish I could buy this house! The host was wonderful and super helpful, allowing us to stay longer when our flight was canceled. The home was adorable and had beautiful views that you cannot appreciate from the photos. It was very nicely maintained and very comfortable for our family of 5. We took walks to the beach and basically had the beach to ourselves, enjoying the seals and beautiful views. I hope to be back next summer! Thanks for having us!

Wonderful House!
Wonderful June trip to Nantucket in a wonderful house. House was updated, super clean, great amenities, and in a nice quiet neighborhood that we’ve never visited on the island. Was great to see the ocean right from the elevated deck each day. The owner is super quick to respond. Looking forward to future vacations at this rental!

We had fallen in Love with Nantucket during a day trip to the island in 1990 with our daughter Kate. We started renting different homes all around the island for a week each Summer. We shared the homes with our Sister, Brother-in Law and their children. We always had a ball and we made so many incredible memories as a family. Nantucket firmly plants itself in your heart after 1 visit. We always dreamed of owning our own piece of this magical island and in 2011 our dream came true. Originally built in 1980 our home had 2 prior owners and was never ever rented. The prior owners wanted us to never rent it and we told them we never wanted to. We named our home "Make It So". We are big fans of Star Trek and in particular Captain Jean Luc Picard, who would instruct his crew to execute an order by saying "Make It So" In February 2014 we had a pipe burst that poured water into the house for days straight. Long story short, everything was destroyed. We had to start from the crawlspace up and redo everything including electrical, plumbing, heating and many, many structural improvements. We had a chance to start over and we knew we had to rent our beloved home. Please know that we chose every detail with great love and the great Master Builder, Buzz Cosgriff Made It So! We know what people want from their home away from home and that never left our minds when we made decisions. We did the very best we could possibly do and we are ready to share our dream with you and your family<3

Why they chose this property

We fell in Love with Make It So because of where it is situated. We are on the Eastern most tip of Nantucket and also on a hill. The weather in our neck of the woods can be vastly different from that of even a mile away. We tend to get more fog, cooler air (sometimes as much as 10 degrees difference) and almost always a constant breeze. It didn't hurt that we could have a gorgeous ocean view of Old Man Shoals, Tom Nevers Pond, Sankaty Light, Low Beach in Sconset ,Alter Rock and take a 8 minute walk to quiet, isolated Tom Nevers Beach. When it snows it feels like we're in a snow globe! We have had so many blessings and great times with our friends and family and we never take it for granted. *Need a unique rental period? The home was totally rebuilt, updated, refurnished and newly outfitted in 2016 and is perfect for professionals and discriminating families who seek clean, QUIET, well appointed and incredible natural beauty that our home on the eastern tip of Nantucket offers. Even the weather is different on this part Nantucket. Almost always a breeze. Heavenly.
