Holiday home in Lacave for 5 people (with heated swimming pool in 2023)

This charming property built in 1864 has been decorated and furnished to a high standard, so that it can be enjoyed in all seasons. Wooden beams and floors, unusual features and carefully chosen soft furnishings all add to the cosy atmosphere. Rear garden swimming pool 7 x 3 metres.
The house is on 3 floors:
The ground floor: a spacious and well equipped kitchen and bar opening onto a dining area with an inglenook fireplace and wood-burning stove. There is also a utility room next to the kitchen.
First floor: a comfortable living room with two sofas, and a bedroom with a double bed and ensuite bathroom.
Second floor: a large air-conditioned family suite with one king size bed, two twin beds and a spacious shower room.

The garden: there is a very large vine covered terrace with lovely views of the village and cliffs of the Dordogne (500M away), with built-in barbecue and stylish garden furniture (dining area and separate lounge area with sofa). New for spring/summer 2023: a heated swimming pool with terrace and sun loungers in the rear garden (photos will be provided beginning 2023).

A nice place in a history-rich area
We really enjoyed our stay here, for the most part. The property is a comfortable, lovingly updated house in a good location for getting to many of the area attractions. It is accurately described in the listing, Jerome is a helpful, speedy communicator, and the pool is a great recent addition. And the house and area information provided in the "house book" is probably the best we have encountered in 30 years of renting holiday properties from owners. However, a couple of things which may not be problematic for most were a bit tricky for us. We consider ourselves animal lovers; we put some of the supplied food out regularly while we were there, and enjoyed watching the antics of the kittens. However, if we opened the window on the ground floor, we had kittens on the kitchen counter. If we tried to eat in the beautiful outside area, we had kittens going after our plates. Note that I specified "kittens". This will probably not be an issue when they get older and have learned some manners. The other aspect that turned out to be more of a problem than we anticipated was the absence of wifi. (This was no surprise--it is clearly spelled out in the property listing.) We thought that we would be fine with the data service on our mobiles, but unfortunately the coverage was very spotty. This was mostly just an irritation, but became more of an issue when we had to try to resolve a major issue with our accomodations for the following week. Nous avons été ravis de passer ces quelques jours dans le Lot dans votre jolie maison. Les enfants ont beaucoup profité de la piscine qui était très appréciable avec la canicule. Nous reviendrons certainement !

Superbe maison idéalement située
La maison est magnifique, ancienne bâtisse rénovée avec style. Le jardin permet de profiter de la soirée, confortablement installé dans les fauteuils de jardin ou autour de la table. Beaucoup de moustiques mais le propriétaire avait laissé des bougies et autres répulsifs. Derriere la maison, la magnifique piscine, à 27°, sans vis à vis gênant. Notre séjour a plu à l'ensemble de la famille, en particulier grâce à la localisation avantageuse de la maison : 20 minutes de Rocamadour, 3 minutes des grottes de Lacave, 25 minutes de Martel, 25 minutes du gouffre de Padirac, 20 minutes de Souillac... Bref, pas trop de voiture pour profiter de cette région exceptionnelle ! Un grand merci au propriétaire de mettre à disposition un bien d'une telle qualité !

Super semaine !
Nous avons passé une très belle semaine au calme dans un village bien situé pour les visites. Il y a énormément de choses à voir. Nous avons découvert une maison authentique, pleine de charme, décorée avec goûts et très propre. L’extérieur de la maison est une pièce supplémentaire ombragée par la vigne et très bien équipée pour se détendre. La piscine est un plus très très appréciable après les journées de visites.
