About this property

Puget Sound Island Home with view of Water

Two story, 2200 sq ft, clean comfortable vacation home within gated community on Harstine Island with a view of Puget Sound and Mt. Rainer. Lots of entertaining space, sleeps 7 comfortably(6 adults). Large wrap around deck. BBQs & picnic areas on the beach nearby(walkable). We have a baby gate, Pack'N Play crib, and high chair.

Our home is within a gated community, Harstene Pointe, which has an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub (open in summer only), tennis courts, pickle ball, basketball, community center with library, billiard & ping pong tables. Miles of private beach and hiking trails. There are multiple covered picnic areas with cooking facilities at the club house, marina, beach and lagoon.

Guests will have access to all resort amenities. The pool and spa are only open during the summer months. This is a private gated community with no stores or restaurants. A key card will be needed for entry.

Owners (booking agents) are off premises. Property Manager is available nearby for questions, emergencies and post stay cleaning.

Nestled in the woods with wildlife, hiking trails, and beaches. You can dig for clams during low tide (license required). There is a 15mph speed limit so feel free to walk, jog or bike safely.

The closest town is Shelton that is about 30 minutes from the island. Pick up your groceries in Shelton on your way to our home in the woods. Some major cities are 45 min-1 hour away, such as Tacoma, Olympia and Bremerton. You can get to Seattle via ferry boat ride from Bremerton which is always fun.

Fantastic family getaway
Wonderful, big house, just ideal for a family stay. And a VERY short walk to the beach, covered bbq area with seating for groups & swings if you have younger kids. My only "complaint" would be kitchen cooking ware. No large pots and pans.

Great stay for a large party or just a place for a family with extra space for teens to hang out.
It was everything we could hope for and super close to the beach.

Great stay, clean, games, good space, great location
Perfect place, so looking forward to a visit in the summer as to use the wrap around deck and enjoy the water view! Close to the point and beach, the gated community has lots to offer, felt safe too. Vickie made us feel so welcome and check in was a breeze! House was super clean and we liked the 2 living rooms as the kids could hang downstairs and adults upstairs. It had everything we needed. Thank you!

Harstine Island
The property was quite and well appointed. My wife is still recovering from a broken femur and the walk in shower with the seat and hand held shower head was just what we needed. The island was a little remote for some of the things we did.

This house was exactly what we wanted. It was close to the beach, and was kid friendly. A great place for a getaway with the family.

About the host

My parents built this home in 1991 to be a summer home for themselves and family members (especially the grandkids!). Harstene Pointe is the most fun and safe place a family can go to and enjoy nature. They built a very large entertaining deck that looks out on the Puget Sound and looks out on a meadow where deer graze. You can sit back on a lounge chair and watch boats go by, birds in the trees, deer grazing, squirrels looking for food, etc.

What makes this property unique

We are located within a gated community at the northern most area near the beach, boat ramp, picnic areas, tennis courts, walking trails, etc.
