This authentic split log cabin home has the best of many worlds with it's easy access and great location. It's only 5 minutes to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park entrance on the Townsend side with many day hikes to explore, streams, wildflowers, wildlife, waterfalls and history most anytime of the year. Bring the family for a beautiful/natural adventure of hiking, biking, picnicking, horseback riding, spelunking, floating the lazy river, visiting the Heritage Center, hometown restaurants, visiting nearby Cade's Cove, Foothills Parkway spectacular, etc. Or travel the beautiful mountain road around to the busier side. Make it all possible by staying comfortably in this great 4 bedroom (King bed and Full futon with single bunk bed combo upstairs and King bed and Queen bed downstairs as well as a new queen pullout in the living room). The Big Cabin will comfortably sleep 6 adults and 3 children or a close combination not counting the hideaway couch or personal blow up mattress space.

This authentic log cabin has vaulted ceilings, split log construction and massive beams. This log cabin has 2 full baths , 2 large decks, a large hot tub outside and now has a laundry closet in the King bedroom downstairs by popular demand. Enjoy the convenient and attractive gas log fireplace, 2 flat screens and a pool table. A beautiful swimming pool and clubhouse are just down the hill at no extra charge.
Check out Hiking and Biking the Smokies app, floating the Little River a mile away, fishing, swimming at the Y (bend in the Little River on the way to Cade's Cove just inside the park), picnicking at Cade's Cove, horseback riding, spelunking in Townsend's very own Tuchaleechee Caverns (you'll want to check dates) that are on the back side of the mountain from this cabin. Rent a bike for the bike trail or Cade's Cove, take in the photography galleries, great hometown restaurants, soda shops & ice cream, art & crafts, festivals & concerts, historical museums, etc.
If you're up for the busier side of the Smokies or shopping on a large scale, check out the Tanger Outlet Malls in Pigeon Forge. Dollywood, amusement park rides amuck, the incredible Aquarium of the Smokies or many amazing mountain arts and crafts are a beautiful drive on over to Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, or Gatlinburg and make it back to relax on the Peaceful Side of the Smokies. Great place and hosts
The house and area were very nice. The hosts checked i. On us during our stay. We have never had that happen before and appreciated it. We left a few things, and our host was nice enough to mail them to us. I can't say enough nice things about how these hosts treat their guests. We will definitely stay with them again.

Great Mountain Hide Away
Wonderful location with loads of privacy! Our family included 4 adults and 4 teens who loved the loft game room and bedroom along with easy access to the clubhouse pool just a short walk from our cabin. The cabin was clean, and beds are comfortable. WIFI was great. The owner Kim always responded quickly to any questions prior to arrival and was super nice to allow us to use the pool since we got to the cabin a bit earlier then check-in after 9 long drive hours and on a very hot day it was a blessing for sure. The local grocery store IGA and Dollar General nearby was adequate but pricey. Take some time to drive to Kroger or Walmart if you have a large group to feed as we did for a week. I highly recommend a day of tubing at River Rats which was a mere 6 min from the cabin. We even got to see a young bear on the roadway out! The location is also perfect to enjoy the scenic drive to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg for more fun and attractions. Overall, the experience was wonderful and felt like a home away from home.

Great cabin
This house was perfect for us. We like to spend more time in the park itself rather all the things in pigeon forge. This location, however, was close enough to the park but not too far from the other attractions either. Our teens loved being close to the pool too!
