About this property

Well Cottage, a one bedroom self-catering holiday cottage all on one level.

Well Cottage is a bright and airy one-bedroom self-catering cottage all on one level, and with the addition of a bed settee in the sitting room it can accommodate up to 4 guests comfortably. The property is surprisingly spacious with a triple aspect kitchen living and dining area, all overlooking the private courtyard and garden to the front of the cottage.

The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with new granite work surfaces, an electric cooker, hob and oven, a refrigerator with freezer box, a microwave, toaster and washer/dryer, making the property perfect for any length of stay. The sitting room also has a new flat screen 32 inch smart tv with free view and an integrated dvd player.

The bedroom directly off the sitting room, has panelling on two of its walls painted in a relaxing pale green. Previously being a well house, this room was formerly the pump room and so doesn’t have any windows. However, it remains pleasantly fresh due to the new positive venting system which constantly brings in clean air from outside which is then heated to the desired temperature. The door to the bedroom has been replaced with a heavy curtain for privacy, but allowing the fresh air to easily circulate encouraging a relaxing sleep. And to make your sleep even better we have added a mattress topper to the new king size bed to make sure that it’s even more comfortable, and the bed settee also has its own mattress topper to make that as comfortable as possible. The bedroom has plenty of storage with bed side tables, a large wardrobe and draws under the bed, making a short break or long stay a pleasure.

The en suite shower room off of the bedroom has just been totally refurbished. It's now equipped with a large walk in shower, a large mirror with surrounding lights, new bright ceiling spotlights, a new toilet and vanity unit and modern anti slip flooring. (Professional pictures to follow as soon as we can get the guests out!)

Finally, the seating area outside the cottage is perfect for relaxing or alfresco dining, and there is guaranteed parking next to the cottage to make your stay even more enjoyable.

For guests who stay at Christmas, we decorate the property before you arrive, so you can enjoy that lovely Christmassy feel as soon as you get here.

Well Cottage has been awarded a Gold 3-star rating from Visit England (Quality in Tourism 2020).

A lovely home from home
Really fantastic cottage in an idyllic setting. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Suzanne who showed us Well Cottage. We instantly felt at home. It was clean, has a spacious lounge and kitchen with everything you could need. Lovely to find a bottle of milk in the fridge and tea/coffee and biscuits provided too. Comfy bed and a fab bathroom. We can't find a single fault. Thank you! we will be back.

Well worth a stay
We have stayed at numerous places around the country and this one goes near the top. The place is perfect for self catering with loads of things to see and lovely walks with very little driving required. The whole area is worth a visit albiet not during the summer season if you want a quiet time. We will definitely be back if we visit the Kent coast again and Thank you...

My husband, family and I all live at Manston Court next to our 3 holiday properties. This is a lovely part of the country, with a beautiful coastline and lovely views. We have lived here for over 17 years and love it here. There is a lot to see and do, with many free events held locally each year, but it's also great just having a nice walk along the coastline, or having a coffee in the many restaurants and cafe's over looking the sea. Come and find out for yourself :)

Why they chose this property

The quiet, private location, the sea only being less than 4 miles away, and only being a half hours drive from Canterbury and Dover with lots to see and do.

What makes this property unique

Private off street parking for several cars. Close to the coast. Close to Canterbury, Sandwich, Dover and Folkestone. The Sandwich Rotary duck race in the River Stour, normally held on the last bank holiday in August. Plastic ducks are purchased and are all thrown into the river where the winner receives a £500 prize. All money raised goes to charity. Where else but the UK!
