About this property

Columbine Cottage, Holme-next-the-Sea, Norfolk

Columbine Cottage is a traditional cottage situated just a few minutes' walk from the beach at Holme-next-the-Sea. The house is very dog friendly with a fully enclosed mature garden.

The detached accommodation is versatile and comfortable and has a sunny conservatory to the rear overlooking the gardens. There are two bedrooms in the main house and a fabulous designer Mega Pod in the garden which teenagers will love - glamping with bells on! There are two bathrooms, a shower room downstairs and a bathroom upstairs. With outdoor table tennis, garage space to lock bikes and outdoor gear securely, it's a great choice for active outdoor folk who like to be in a quiet spot yet very close to the coast.

The White Horse pub is a short walk away, as is the stop for the Coasthopper bus service which takes you to all the other villages along lovely North Norfolk, then you can walk home along the coast path, which passes not far from the cottage.

Additional Information
Two well behaved dogs are welcome (small additional charge).
Access Note: The ground floor bedroom is in a pod in the garden. The WC and shower room are on the ground floor of the main house, close to the pod.

Columbine Cottage
We booked the cottage because it was close to the beach and the garden secure for 2 dogs. The cottage is very pretty and the garden absolutely perfect. The conservatory is excellent for the dogs and a lovely area to sit when it got a bit chilly. However we were very disappointed about the cleanliness of the cottage. The oven has not had a deep clean in ages and contained 2 rusty baking sheets, the dishwasher has rust on the baskets and washing machine although looking brand new had a blocked soap dispenser drawer. The freezer under the stairs is in a desperate need of defrosting as the freezer compartment is full of ice and random backs of frozen veg and chips. I had to clean the kitchen before we used it. The bedding in the main room and a dirt marked bottom sheet and no pillow protecters on the pillows. I did pop into the Burnham Market office to inform them of my concerns and they were going to look into it. So, the cottage itself was perfect for our holiday , it just needs a deep clean and a bit of love.

Lovely location and garden. Some attention needed
We love this cottage. Only 2 light bulbs out of 5 lounge. Had to swap from bedroom. 3 logs, not a basket. Only 1 light working in conservatory. Broken chair in conservatory. Warm, well equipped, beautiful garden. Brilliant location.

Perfect in every way.
Beautiful location just 5 minutes walk to beach and amazing walks along a unspoilt coast line..The cottage was fantastic more than you could ask for and great to have a large enclosed garden,We have booked again for next year.

Lovely location and garden.
This was a lovely warm cottage with a beautifully enclosed and quiet garden, excellent for our little dog. Only a short walk to the beach where we were lucky enough to view some outstanding November sunsets.

Perfect location
We had a fabulous week in this lovely cottage, perfectly located to walk to the beautiful dunes and sea, and a very short walk to the excellent White Horse pub. Also within easy access of other beautiful surrounding villages and beaches. The cottage is well equipped and furnished with everything you could possible need. The garden is beautiful, private and very secure. The "pod" was fantastic and surprisingly cool in a very hot week in July. The only fault was the cleanliness; this was supposed to have been a Covid "deep clean" - I had to clean the fridge and the oven before using, the microwave was filthy but we never used it. We vacuum cleaned the cereal up under the table and got rid of a lot of cobwebs. The cleaner had lost the key, which was swiftly rectified and a spare delivered by her manager who we then had to ask to clean the washing/toilet facilities for the pod as it was not pleasant. All this said, once the cleaning had been rectified, we did have a lovely week and would like to return - as long as the cleaning regime is tightened.
