About this property

Flint House, Castle Acre, Norfolk

Flint House is a bright, fresh and beautifully presented grown-up home from home in the historic village of Castle Acre.

Comfortably furnished and very well equipped throughout, the sitting room features a multi-fuel stove for cosy winter evenings. All three bedrooms boast extensive views of the peaceful village, historic ruins or surrounding valley meadows. There's off-road parking and a lawned garden, plus the benefit of a secure garage for bikes, golfing and other outdoor gear.

Castle Acre village has vast historic interest with a castle, priory and the Peddars Way pilgrimage path passing right through. There's a good pub, village shop, chippie and café as well as an antique and book store to browse in. Quiet walks from the village through nature reserves, historic routes, the beautiful wooded Nar valley and gently rolling countryside are there for you to explore; a truly peaceful and unspoilt corner of Norfolk.

So if you're looking for a very practical, grown-up and much-loved welcoming detached home, with uncrowded walks from the doorstep, Flint House is certainly a comfortable choice. The nearest coast is around half an hour at Snettisham. Here birds and humans alike flock for the winter spectacular - an incredible sight and sound of waders and wildfowl which matches the WOW of any African safari!

Also within around half an hour drive you have the North Norfolk coast at Wells, HM The King's Sandringham Estate, Fakenham races, Thetford Forest Park, the historic dockland town of Kings Lynn and dozens of sleepy Norfolk villages far from the madding crowds. Flint House is a really good central base for exploring the variety Norfolk has to offer.

Flint house
The house was very clean and well equipped. Although the bedrooms were very sunny, downstairs felt dark with low natural light. The house is in a good position in the village. The garden is adequate.

Well Equipped home from home
The house was spotless, with comfortable beds, loads of towels and the best ‘rental’ kitchen we’ve stayed in. The house worked really well for us for a quiet week away in November. Everything worked, and they house came with info on what to do locally. Would definitely recommend.

A home from home.
Refreshing to stay in a holiday rental that lived up to our expectations. A very well equipped property which is obviously well cared for. Highly recommended.

Norfolk break
Never having visited Norfolk before we were fortunate to find Flint House. This was ideally situated for the places we wanted to visit. The house we found very comfortable with everything to hand and well presented. Castle Acre provided much interest in itself and with shop, pub and chip shop we were well satisfied.

Great place for a break
A great base for a weeks holiday , we visited the Castle and Priory, Oxborough, Great Bircham as well as surrounding beaches. Only slight draw back is a lack of a sunny outside space in the evening.
