About this property

Natural Elements apt, close 2 beach

As the name suggests, the Natural Elements apartment draws inspiration from the beauty of nature. The design of this wonderfully unique living space brings together a wealth of natural materials. The bedroom design incorporates the famous cork oaks of Portugal, a beautiful mosaic and wood finishes, while the bathroom is styled on the stunning vistas of the desert - complete with sand dunes created with Moroccan plastering techniques. The open-plan living room and kitchen area also boast many natural elements, such as cork, stone and wood.

The Natural Elements Apartment features:

• one bedroom with double bed (160cm x 200cm)
• bathroom with shower, toilet and sink,
• a corridor with wardrobe
• a split level down (50 cm 3 steps) open space living, dining and kitchen area
• a simple, rural kitchen with fridge, gas stove with oven, extraction fan and utensils.
• a low loft to sleep up to 2 children, accessed by a wooden ladder
• fire place for winter
• terrace
• decking with great view
• free wifi
• hairdryer on request (for reasons of energy efficiency, please don’t bring your own)
• use of washing machine (not in the apartment but nearby)
• breakfast, lunch or dinner on request

The living area contains a comfy, bespoke sofa situated near a cozy wood-burner. A tiny oven built into the stove means that, on a cold day, you could even make a fire and cook a cake, should the mood take you. The windows to the front of the apartment grant an amazing view of the valley and access to a beautiful wooden decking area (more than 30m²), complete with outside shower and plenty of space for lounging, sitting, or doing yoga.

On the other side we have a tiled outside area - for extra sun exposure in the morning and on windy days. Through this side you can also access your vehicle’s parking area, located just 30 meters away from the apartment, at the end of a wide, slate-paved path.

Electricity, water and gas are included in the price; you will only pay for wood in the winter if you choose to make a fire. The building is centrally heated.

For guests with children we can provide cots for the bedroom. Younger children can sleep on an extra bed in the living room or, if over seven years old, can use the low mezzanine level - a great adventure for kids (accessed via a small staircase).

The land and river side are available as well as are our animals. On top of it all we have a bio-dynamic farm going on that you can visit and enjoy and buy its produce and home made products like jam and such. We have many guest services to offer such a surf lessons, bike rental, yoga and meditation classes, donkey touring and much more.
Or take a refreshing dive in the river!

Although guests have their own completely private accommodation, we share the same outside areas with our guests. That means we interact with the guests trying to give them the best service possible.

We recycle our glass, plastic, paper, metal and food and, because we produce our own
renewable energy, we operate with a very low carbon output and minimal waste.
And since we acquire most of our energy from the sun, our supply is limited to what nature gives us.

As well as staying in accommodation full of natural materials, you will get to enjoy a 100%
ecological holiday experience. Not only does the resort harness its energy from sun
and wind, but we also source our own water, treat our own drainage and produce a lot
of our own food.
The retreat features a biodynamic farm which creates great natural produce for you to
enjoy, if you so wish, and we have lots of delicious, home-made products available to you.
The farm contains various animals; we have chickens, ducks, cats, dogs and donkeys,
that all play their part in helping us sustain this rewarding lifestyle both as committed
co-workers and as domestic companions.

We love animals, however we must ask that you do not bring pets which might harass or
harm our free-roaming ducks, chickens, donkeys, cats, dogs and small children.
When bringing an animal we always prefer to have a chat over the phone to talk things
through. On the property dogs always need to be on a leash.

Embedded in the eco reserve and a short 3 km drive away from the town of Odeceixe and from there just 3 km away from the stunning 1st price wining beach of Odeceixe we have the best of both worlds to offer.

During the day and especially at night it is so quiet you can hear a pin drop, the nocturnal animals sing their songs and the stream that divides the Algarve and the Alentejo trickles endlessly over the land. Apart from our houses that are built as ecologically as possible we have a beautiful bio-dynamic garden that produces lovely food for you to enjoy. Great walks and strolls by the river stream can be undertaken.

If you want some more movement but not too much you can take a bike, walk or drive to Odeceixe, a little sleepy town where time has stood still. Around the area traditionalism is very tangible, agriculture and fishery are one of the main activities. An area where donkeys are still plowing the fields and the fish is served straight from the boat onto your plate.

Odeceixe Beach is a 1st price winning beach in the huge Natural Park that surrounds it. The beach is great for surfing, body boarding and sunbathing. It lends itself for playing lots of games and because of its width during low tide it’s almost a round beach. The stream that runs over our land flows into the sea. At the river side the ocean’s waves are canceled out and harnesses great opportunity for families with smaller kids.
Recently the Rota Vicentina has been installed, an unbelievable experience for trekking minded people. A trail that that runs right by us goes for 100's of kilometres over the coast line and partly inland as well.
Whether you're looking for rest, nature or an acivity holiday this is the right spot.
