Poppy Cottage (Docking), Docking, Norfolk

Poppy Cottage is a comfortably furnished terraced cottage which forms part of a conversion of an historic Victorian building. Situated just outside the village of Docking in a rural setting, you will really appreciate the big blue Norfolk skies!

There is a comfortable sitting room with television and period fireplace with electric fire, and a spacious dining kitchen with table and chairs and a television with DVD player. On the first floor there are three bedrooms. The master bedroom offers a king-size bed with en-suite shower room, the second offers a double bed and third offers full-size bunk beds, and a family bathroom.

There is a good-sized fully enclosed garden with paved patio area, ideal for barbecues and sunny days. Docking is well served with a very welcoming pub, a Spar shop, fish and chip shop and a doctor's surgery. The beach at Brancaster, Sandringham Estate, RSPB Snettisham and the popular Georgian village of Burnham Market are all just a short drive away.

Good for a Couples/Friends getaway or Family stay
Cottage was comfortable with very secure garden so great as we took two dogs who love to escape if possible. I’m really only marking the cottage down condition as there wasn’t any sharp knives in the kitchen which was really annoying, especially as when I flagged up to the owner she said she had bought some just not put them in the cottage. Plenty of parking if more than one car. Some noise at night/early morning as you are on a well used road but not drastic. Cottage is a little way from the actual village so car or bike required to get to nearby pub

Lovely cottage with secure, secluded garden.
Well maintained and tastefully decorated. Very comfortable with everything you need. Beautiful garden which is fully enclosed so ideal for dogs and children. Plenty of parking. A little out of the village but not a problem if you have a car. Would recommend.

Beautiful Cottage In Idyllic Surroundings
We arrived at 4pm and were greeted by the owner, who was a lovely lady. The accommodation was cleaned thoroughly and was perfect for our family. Although the kitchen was only small it was well stocked with plates, saucepans, bowls etc. everything you would need. It was also lovely to have a full sized fridge freezer as some of the properties we have stayed in have all had a small fridge with a little freezer compartment and when there is a family of you it is nice to be able to stock this with food. The only issues we found was that it says in the write up on the website that there is a television in the master bedroom but unfortunately there was not, luckily we had taken our portable DVD player so our little one could watch this. Also it would have been nice to have a hoover available. We had a toddler and a dog with us and obviously hairs come off the dog so it would have been good to be able to hoover these up so we could have our toddler on the floor more, but these are only two minor things that did not affect the holiday. It was ideally situated for the cost, with a lovely pub and shop in Docking, which is a 5 minute ride in the car.

Was Ok
This cottage was a bit tired in certain areas and could have done with a bit of a refresh. It was clean and there were some nice welcome bits on arrival. Kitchen equipment was somewhat random. Main bathroom was tiny and both showers not really powerful enough. Garden was lovely. Good parking. Not easily walkable to any pubs or shops. Nothing really wrong with it but not as nice as other places we have stayed.
