The views were outstanding and it was great to be located in a quiet spot on the edge of the village but just a short walk from local shops and pubs. Just a short drive from beautiful beaches too. The secure garage was an excellent bonus for storing bikes we brought with us. We loved all the little spots around the garden from where to sit and admire the view.

I think one of the main attractions of Elthorne is the wonderful view from many of the rooms. The house it self is very well equipped with plenty of room and very comfortable beds Everything was exceptionally clean. I can certainly recommend this property which is located just a short walk into Porlock which has lovely shops and places to eat.

A very comfortable and peaceful house set in a lovely garden with outstanding views over Porlock Bay
A very comfortable and peaceful house set in a lovely garden with outstanding views over Porlock Bay and close to town with shops and pubs, and many lovely walks. We only drove on 3 days of our week. We thoroughly enjoyed our family reunion and walking holiday. The house was extremely well-equipped. We enjoyed aperitifs in the lovely summer house on a couple of evenings - shame it wasn't warm enough the rest of the week. We'll just have to return!

Great location near the shops and restaurants. Fantastic views. Quiet and peaceful. Ideal location
Great location near the shops and restaurants. Fantastic views. Quiet and peaceful. Ideal location for walking. Lovely comfortable beds after a long day . Plenty of hot water. Well equipped kitchen. Superb covered seating area out the back with beautiful views. Not good for people with poor mobility, however our elderly parents managed to get up and down the steps fine. They slept in the downstairs annexe with their own bathroom, which worked out perfectly. A great stay was had by all the family. Lovely family memories were made

Exmoor is situated in South West Britain, specifically across West Somerset and North Devon. Often referred to as England's best kept secret, Exmoor is a wonderful holiday destination for anyone looking for a holiday in the great outdoors! There's so much to see and do, from short walks to long expeditions across the moors or horse riding, taking in a safari or sight-seeing at your own pace around the 'picture postcard' villages and hamlets.

Often described as 'the jewel in Exmoor's crown', Porlock has a long history of settlements existing on or near the site of the existing village, with stone-age remains only a short distance away. Porlock is a working village and boasts a number of pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and independent shops. There are few more delightful surroundings than Porlock Vale, nestled at the foot of Porlock Hill, bounded to the north by its shingle ridge and breath taking views towards the Bristol Channel, and to the south by the rolling hills of the Exmoor National Park. The Exmoor coastline is formed mainly of cliffs but at Porlock the land flattens out and a unique mile long shingle ridge and an inland salt marsh have formed. For the bird watcher this is a very interesting site as a great variety of waders and wildfowl can be seen here in the winter as well as the occasional unusual bird passing through.
