About this property

Stunning Highland retreat in peaceful glen near Dornoch

This unique traditional Scottish stone house (built in1877), and recently modernised with a bright large modern extension is located in Scotland’s popular holiday area of Ross-shire and Sutherland. The modern kitchen is designed for family cooking and is part of an open plan area with the sitting and dining room, which looks out to the magnificent views through a double storey height picture window. There is also a separate cosy traditional Scottish open fire TV lounge/game room. The three bedrooms are comfortable, two of which have Victorian themed furniture. There is a bathroom upstairs and a shower /WC downstairs. Internet WiFi free access is available around the house. Lastly, there is a separate study room with extensive views, to provide inspiration for the creative writer or artist. Efficient heating keeps the house warm in all weather. The large garden is ideal for relaxing under the trees in summer or alfresco dining.
The immediate Polgarrie secluded location offers the best highland views of mountain, glen and down to the blue Dornoch Firth. Six golf courses are within a 10 to 20 minute drive, the beach 15 minutes.

A very enjoyable stay at Polgarrie. Really felt like a home from home with lots of character, a mix of modern and old. The property was really spacious and the location was amazing. Wonderful views with beautiful walks and nature all around. Lots of interesting places to visit nearby. We had to extend our stay due to weather conditions and Kate was extremely helpful throughout. We would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Fantastic stay in beautiful property
We had a fantasic stay at Polgarrie with our two children, 10 and 6. The property was bright, modern and well equipped. The views from the main living room are stunning. There was lots of exciting things to do with the kids. The kids loved the walk up the Struie, playing in the river and having the freedom to roam. A highlight was seeing the salmon jumping at the falls of shin. We will definitely visit again.
