About this property

Quiet & Private with Fire Pit Out Back!

Wifi Update (December 2021). This home now has Comcast internet!

Welcome to my favorite home!! This home was built in 1989 by my Pop-Pop, Dad, & brother, Gene. Fast-forward to 2016 when Gene, my husband & I completely renovated this home.

It is a 3-bedroom, 1-bath home located on a quiet, wooded lot; just a half-mile from the Elk River. You can walk or drive down to our little sandy beach area, complete with a dock and kayaks for your use during your stay.

It is located just 8 miles south of the town of North East, where there is shopping galore and plenty of amazing restaurants!

Previous Guests have chosen this home because it is quiet and "away from it all". This home is our only home with no other homes in view. The backyard is very private and so peaceful; absolutely perfect for a bonfire under the stars!!

Other Guests were attending weddings at nearby venues; Bohemia Overlook & Elk Neck State Park. Merchant Social is a new wedding venue, also very close.

Anchor Marina is famous for hosting Bass Tournaments and we always welcome our Bass Fishermen Guests with plenty of parking for trucks/trailers w/ boats.

No need to bring linens, pillows, blankets or towels; we supply all of those. We fully-stock our home to make your packing a breeze!!

We look forward to meeting you!!

AMAZING PROPERTY
I booked this house for my best friends Bachelorette! The house was a perfect size, stocked very well, clean and cool!!! You have an amazing fire pit, grill as well! You also are a short 3 min drive to the river and you can kayak and float on the river! This was everything you want in a rental and the host. Kim and her husband are amazing. They care about you having a good time and want to make sure your a comfortable. We cannot wait to come back again!!!

Disappointed
The house was in need of serious repairs. When we walked into the property it seemed as if someone was already living there and we were in the wrong house. There were dishes in the sink, and food in the fridge. There was a strong smell of air freshener, but everything was old and worn, rugs, coffee tables, towels, bathroom. The kitchen was small and lacked counterspace and storage for any of our things. The bed in the room on right sank when you got in, and on day two the back end collapsed backwards while we were asleep. It was very overpriced for the condition it was in and overall a complete disappointment.

Wonderful getaway!
We had an amazing time at this property! Kim was very quick to respond to the questions I had before booking. Once we arrived Kim and her husband gave us a tour and were very friendly. During the day, my kids had a great time playing in the river and going out in the kayaks and at night they enjoyed making hot dog and smores at the fire pit. The property is not far from the state park and we were able to get a hike in to see the lighthouse. Our stay was amazing and we had a great time!

Nicely Secluded, Lovely Hosts
We really enjoyed the seclusion of this property; it wasn’t too far from the main road, but it felt very private. Our son enjoyed the fire pit immensely, as well as the rowboat. The hosts were super nice and flexible.

Hi! I'm Kim; married to Steve. My brother, Gene and I inherited this property from our Mom-Mom. Our 1st Vacation home (#406734) has done so well - we have THE ABSOLUTE BEST GUESTS!!! We love sharing our property, knowing how much everyone loves it here, so... we're adding a 2nd Vacation home!

Why they chose this property

This home was built in 1989 by my Dad and Pop Pop and has always been a year-round rental, until now! Gene and Steve & I have completely renovated it, including new paint throughout and new kitchen cabinets and appliances, new flooring and carpet! It's beautiful and we're so excited to share it with you!

What makes this property unique

This home has a big backyard, very open to the sky. Take a seat in the Adirondack chairs and enjoy an evening bonfire under the stars!
