Studio Waterfront Condo
About Karen Gelowitz
We are your hosts, Karen & Paul. Paul is a recently retired electrician and I work in the real estate industry. Paul has owned the condo for 18 years and I have recently become part owner. Now that Paul has retired, he has lots of time on his hands, so we decided what a perfect way for him to keep busy was to start the vacation rental. I work in administration/accounting at my office, so I am better dealing with all the paperwork that comes with being an owner, while Paul handles all the other chores. We are new to the vacation rental business so its a learning curve for us, and hopefully we are on the right path to ensure all our clients are comfortable staying in our suite and have a great experience visiting Victoria.
Karen Gelowitz purchased this Condo in 2001
Why Karen Gelowitz chose Downtown
Paul bought this property before it was built. He saw an opportunity to buy a waterfront condo in downtown Victoria, and jumped at it. He purchased the condo with his cousin from Port Angeles and initially they rented it out as a nightly rental but it was more then they could handle, so they rented it out month to month. I came into the picture a few years ago, and his cousin decided he wanted to sell his portion of the condo, so this is where I stepped in. Best investment I have ever made. I work with people who have vacation rentals and after asking a lot of questions, we decided this is what we should do with the condo. A decision we don't regret.
What makes this Condo unique
The most unique part of this condo is the Roof top patio. A perfect spot to watch the sunset, or have a glass of wine and enjoy the view. Also watching the activity in the harbour from the living room with the floor to ceiling windows. The other thing is the secure underground parking. This is definitely a bonus for this property.

Gem in the heart of Victoria
Loved the stunning views from this quaint cozy condo. This place felt like home from the moment we opened the door. Enjoyed the rooftop garden patio. Super close to shopping, restaurants, and all the adventures Victoria had to offer. Would definitely recommend!
Had a very nice experience staying here. Check in was great and Karen was very helpful. Apartment is well stocked and close to Chinatown and the Inner Harbour. Il Terrazzo was an amazing Italian Restaurant closeby.
Only downfall is the noise from being in the city and the seagulls. Suggest bringing earplugs.
Best place to stay in Victoria
My favourite place to stay in Victoria - beautiful and charming! The condo has all modern conveniences, a beautiful harbour view and rooftop patio, includes parking, and is close to downtown.
It was fine.
Great location, the unit was as advertised. Good owners.
Best vrbo we ever stayed in.
We loved this little studio. The moment we walked in all we saw was the beautiful harbour view from the floor to ceiling windows! The location could not have been better as it was walking distance to Chinatown, fisherman’s warf, and downtown. It was a huge bonus to have the secure underground parking. We would definitely stay here again.
Best place to stay in Victoria!!
This is my second year at this wonderful property!! Started off with a warm welcome from Karen! Then as soon as I walked into the unit, that amazing view over the Upper Harbour!! If I did nothing else but sit & look at the view, I'd be happy as a clam the whole time! There's always so much activity to watch, the adorable water taxis (you can see them practice for the taxi ballet from bed on the weekends about 9:30 am!!!!), all the other boats, barges, people kayaking, people stand-up paddling, rowing, etc! And some of the best sunsets I've ever seen!! There's even binoculars to get a closer look! The views from the upstairs deck are great too!
Unit itself is lovely! Everything you can possibly want. Super clean! Lots of hangers. So handy to have the washer/dryer! Having the Murphy bed is great, easily tuck it up during the day so it's a pretty spacious unit!
Location is amazing!! About 1.5 blocks from Chinatown (Fan Tan Cafe is my favorite!), there's a French Bakery there too that has amazing goodies, especially their macarons! A couple blocks away is the fabulous JAM for breakfast, go a little later, about 2 or so and no wait! They're open until 3. If you walk through Chinatown & up the hill another block, there's the Public Market, all kinds of fun food & stuff in there, nice little grocery! At the top of the hill where the Public Market is, if you had turned right, down a couple blocks is a Shoppers mart, like a CVS for all your other needs! They have food too.
I love taking walks in the evenings down along the Inner Harbour, then out to Fisherman's Wharf, from there I'd take a water taxi home, the Chinatown Stop is right next to the unit's building!!
It's a great location to walk and easy to catch the bus to Butchart Gardens (you can buy bus passes from the visitor's center at the Inner Harbour), stop is right in front of the Public Market.
I have stayed for 2 weeks each time and felt right at home! Can't wait to go back!!!
